Regular Meeting
Meeting called to order at
8. OClock P.M/ President Jordan presiding.
All members of board being present.
Minutes of Meetings of Dec 4. 6. 12th read and ap-
proved as read.
Regular Monthly reports of Marshal & Clerk were
read and ordered placed on file
Chairman Thomas of the Street Committee reported
the culvert on First Street at the Rail Road cross-
ing was completed, with the exception of a few.
neccessary leads of gravel; Also that the West end
of First st had been graveled as ordered by the
board
Street Committee also reported unfavorable on
petition of Albert Weymouth Etal for a Culvert at
First & M. streets
Marshal & Chief Engineer reported that they had
investigated the matter of Chimneys & stove pipes on
first streets and found several in bad condition and
that some parties offered objection against complying
with the Ordinance Regulating same
A Petions was received from Mrs Conrad Etal
asking for a Culvert on the South side of 3rd st
at J. Following bills were examined and approved

On Motion it was ordered that the gravel
neccessary to complete job a the First Street culvert
be hauled
License No 163 issued to M. Dolan was rebated
he having discontinued business
Several merchants objected to the provisions
of the Ordinance Regulating storage of Coal Oil
which provided that not to exceed 100 Gallons
of Coal Oil may be stored in one place after con-
siderable discussion matter was referred to the Ordinance Com.
On Motion it was ordered that Chief Engineer &
Marshal enforce the Ordinance Regulating Chimneys,
Stove pipes Etc
Petition of A Weymouth Etal for a Culvert a
First & M St. was on Motion rejected.
-A Misunderstanding having occuri9ed between the
R. R. Co & Board of Trustees regarding matter of
Culverts under R R track the Clerk was instructed to
correspond with R. R. Co regarding same
The matter of grading R. R. Avenue was referred
to street Com, and the Marshal ordered to cause the
Same to be graded under instructions of said Com.
A petition was received from M. Hupers Etal.
requesting that P. Washburn be granted a free
License
On Motion the Marshal was ordered to issue
the License as requested by petitioners

I matter of the storage of Coal Oil the Ordinance
Committee reported in favor of changing the Ordinance
so as to read 200 instead of 100 Gallons
The Committee also reported favorably on the proposed Ordinance

placing the Retail Liquor License at # 25. per Quarter.

On Motion it was ordered that the Ordinance regulating
the Storage of Coal Oil be changed to read 300 instead
of 100 Gallons, and the Clerk was instructed to Draft
an Ordinance to that effect
License No 186 issued to the Young Citizen Laundry
and License No 190 issued to Ah Lee were rebated the
parties having gone out of business
A Draft of an Ordinance presented by Trustee Beazel
amending Sec 14 of Ordinance No 55 and fixing the

Retail Liquor License at # 25 per Quarter to go in
effect of March 1st. 1894. was numbered 82 and passed
to print by the following

A Petition was received from Bay State Mer Co
and others requesting that the board grant a free
License to M. Ducan to peddle fish etc
The matter of Licensing the Farmers Warehouse Co again
came before the board. Mr Geo Beck of the Warehouse Co
was called upon to state why the company should not
pay a license. He gave his reasons at length as did also
Mr Pitcher and J. F. Meyers
Mr F. R. Fasset stated that the company issued
Warehouse Receipts and claimed they should pay a license
the same as any other Warehouse Co
Mr Sellers also argued that the Company should
pay a license
The Matter was finally referred to the Ordinance
Com' to report at an adjourned meeting to be held
Monday Feby 12th. 1894
Rev P. Power appeared before the board and re-
quested to be informed weather or not the board assumed re-
sponsibility for the new Culvert recently put in by the
rail road Company and claimed that its size was to large
for the one recently put in by the Town Board
Chairman Jordan stated the board did not assume all
responsibility in the matter but had suggest it
would be better to enlarge the Culvert at this point
than to cause the water to run over the lands of private
parties as they intended doing
The gentleman also requested that a proper bridge
be placed at the end of R. R. Ave., near that entrance
to the Church yard That the one recently placed there
by the board was only ten feet wide and was dangerous
as it was used a considerable at night
The matter was referred to the Street Committee to re-
port at the Adjourned meeting of the board
Mr Fassett of Livermore Warehouse stated to the board
that before R. R. Ave had been graded free access could be
gained to the Warehouse, which was not the case since
it had been graded, He asked that proper bridges be
built for the Warehouse also.

of Sec 3 of Ordinance No 81 fixing Auctioneers License

for supplying water to the inhabitants of the Town of
Livermore.

charged by any person, company, association, or corpo-
ration, for the use of water supplied to the
Town of Livermore for Fire purposes for the year
commencing July 1, 1894 was renumbered 86 and passed
to print by the following vote

Noes None.
An Ordinance Fixing the rate that may be charged
by any person, Company, association or corporation,
in this state for the use of water supplied to the
Town of Livermore, or the inhabitants thereof for the
year commencing July 1. 1894 was numbered 87 and
passed to print by the following Vote

Noes None
A Petition was read from P. Claussen Et. Al asking
for an electric Light to be located at J. and 8th streets
Petition was referred to street Committee
Clerk was instructed to write the District Atty
for an opinion regarding matter of dividing town
into precincts
Marshal Taylor requested he be authorized
to have the Jail renovated Whitewashed Etc & t purchase
Blankets & quilts

Resolved that the
application of Fred Menken for a license to retail
Liquor in a certain Room located and particularly de-
scribed in his application on file the office of the
Town Clerk is hereby granted and Marshal ordered to
issue a License in accordance with this resolution
President Jordan called Trustee Beazel to the Chair
and made a few remarks regarding business of the
Town for the past year. he also thanked the board
for the attention and courtesy shown him as Chairman

Immediately on adjournment of retiring board. Trustees
elect Jordan Sellers Mitchel Beazel & Fletcher came forward
presented their certificates of election and took their seats.
They were called to order at 9 OClock P.M. by

The board proceeded to organize by
election of W. Jordan as temporary Chairman
The election of Regular officers being in order
W. Jordan was renomnated but declined to serve another
year in the chair.
Trustees Mitchel Sellers & Beazel were nominated
Messers Mitchel & ?Seller declining to serve
Trustee Beazel was elected to the Chair by a unanimous
vote of the board.
On Motion following appointments were

In matter of moving fire Hydrant at Corner of
First and "L" street ordered at the last regular meeting
of the board the street Committee asked for instructions
as to where the Hydrant should be located

Trustee Jordan of the street Committee
reported a complaint regarding condition of some of the side
walks in several portion of town also made special mention
of the side walk in first street fronting the office of Justice
of the peace
On Motion it was ordered that the street Committee in.
conjunction with the Marshal see the several property owners
and cause the sidewalks fronting thereon to be repaired.
Bond of A Barthold accompanying his application for a
liquor license with N. D Dutcher and Fred Malley as sureties

Matter of location for the Hydrant attached to the
mains of the Livermore Deep Well Water Co at the Cor of
First and "L" streets was taken up.
Afer considerable discussion it was moved seconded &
carried that the street committee cause the Hydrant to
be located on the east side of Lizzie "L." st at or
about the N.W. Cor of the property of E. D Murphy
and about 50 ft from its present location.
Mr Bernal agreeing to move same without cost to the Town

Bond of Treasurer Theo Gorner in 5000 with Geo True
and Joseph Blondin as sureties was on Motion approved
D. F Bernal appeared before the board and asked to be
granted a privalege to erect a stand pipe for use of
sprinkling cart and requested that the board locate same
on First st near center of town
On Motion same was granted and location name as being
in South West side of Lizzie st. between First st and
track of SPRR Co.

The Matter of purchasing a number of MGill Fire Extinguisher
for use of the Town was brought up.
it was agreed by all the members of the board that they
would be a useful auxillery to the Town Department and
on Motion of Trustee Mitchel seconded by Trustee Fletcher
the Chief Engineer be instructed to order of George K Tay & Co
10 Extinguishers for use of the Town price 15.00 each & time of payment
having been agreed upon.
Ordinance Committee reported favorable upon the appli-
cation of A. Barthold for a liquor license.

Trustee Fletcher stated that the Health Officer
had reported to him the Cesspool at the Waggonor
Winery as being a nuisance & should be abated
P. Laughery living in vacinity of Winery being
present complained to the board of the stinch
coming from this Cess Pool & Basked that the board
take some action in the matter
Mr Waggoner proprietor of Winery in question
also being present was called upon to make
a statement. He stated that the Marshal
had spoken to him about the matter. & that
it was impossible for him to attend to it at
once but promised to remove cause of complaint
in course of two weeks time
On Motion Marshal was instructed to see that
Mr Waggoner kept his promise in the matter.
On Motion it was ordered that Clerk
cause to be published a "Notice to Printers"
calling for bids to do the Printing of the Town
Ordinance & Notices & general advertising of the Town for
