APPROVING AND REDEVELOPMENT PLANNING GRANT
AGREEMENT
WHEREAS, the Borough of Carteret has retained the services of Schoor
DePalma to perform planning services with regard to the potential modification of
the BelleMead Redevelopment Agreement; and
WHEREAS, the North Jersey Transportation Planning Authority, the
Metropolitan Planning Organization for the northern 13 counties of New Jersey,
in conjunction with the New Jersey Institute of Technology, a body corporate and
politic of the State of New Jersey (collectively referred to as the "Study Team")
have offered to fund the engineering planning study to be performed by Schoor
DePalma with regard to the redevelopment of the Borough's former landfill site
and adjacent properties; and
WHEREAS, the parties are desirous to enter into an Agreement with regard to
the foregoing which is of mutual interest and benefit to the Study Team and the
Borough, and which will further the objective of both.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, by the Mayor and Council of the
Borough of Carteret as follows:
The Mayor is hereby authorized to execute the Study
Agreement with the North Jersey Transportation Planning
Authority and the New Jersey Institute of Technology
pending receipt of the same in a form acceptable to the
Borough Attorney.
The appropriate Borough Officials are hereby authorized to
take such other action as may be required to implement the
foregoing.
Adopted this 21st day of June, 2001
and certified as a true copy of the
original on June 22, 2001.
