RESOLUTION NO. 2015-057
A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING A COLLECTIVE BARGAINING
AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF TIFFIN, IOWA
AND THE AMERICAN FEDERATION OF STATE,
COUNTY AND MUNICIPAL EMPLOYEES
JULY1, 2015 THROUGH JUNE 30912016
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Tiffin, Iowa ("City") ehtered into contract
negotiations with the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees Council 61
("AFSCME") acting on behalf of the City employees; and,
WHEREAS, The City and AFSCME conducted several bargaining sessions attended by,
representatives of the City employees and AFSCME, and negotiating committee of the City Council, all
of whom negotiated in good faith under the rules of the Iowa Public Employees Labor, Relations Board
("PERB"); and,
WHEREAS, with a final bargaining session held on March 31, 2015 with assistance from the
Public Employee Relations Board, AFSCME and the City came to terms of agreement and subsequently
considered final drafts of an agreement; and,
WHEREAS, members of the employee bargaining unit held an election on or about April 20,
2015 and did vote to accept the terms of the agreement; and,
WHEREAS, the agreement was therefore submitted to the City Council for consideration at its
regular meeting of April 22, 2015.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Tiffin, Iowa to
approve and accept the agreement entitled "Collective Bargaining Agreement Between the City of Tiffin
and American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees, AFL-CIO, July 1, 2015 — June 30,
2016", and to authorize the Mayor and negotiating committee to sign and City Clerk to attest said
agreement, which is attached hereto and made a part of this resolution.
On the 22 day of April; 2015, at a regular meeting of the Tiffin City Council, Tiffin, Iowa,
Councilperson Upton introduced Resolution No. 2015-057, A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING A
`COLLECTIVE BARGAINING AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF TIFFIN, IOWA AND THE
AMERICAN FEDERATION OF STATE, COUNTY AND MUNICIPAL EMPLOYEES'JULY 1, 205
THROUGH -JUNE 30, 2016, and made a motion for approval. Motion seconded by Councilperson
Bartels.

Whereupon four Council members were present and voted approval and Mayor Berner declared that the
Resolution No. 2015-057, A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING A COLLECTIVE BARGAINING
AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF TIFFIN, IOWA AND THE AMERICAN FEDERATION OF
STATE, COUNTY AND MUNICIPAL EMPLOYEES JULY 1, 205 THROUGH JUNE 30, 2016 to be
adopted and signified his approval of the same by affixing his signature thereto.
