A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF LYNWOOD ADDING SECTION 4.08 TO
THE HOUSING REHABILITATION REGULATIONS
MANUAL TO ESTABLISH THE EMERGENCY HOUSING
ASSISTANCE PROGRAM (EHAP) PROVIDING
' EMERGENCY ASSISTANCE IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO
EXCEED $3500 FOR QUALIFYING SINGLE-FAMILY
OWNER-OCCUPIED HOUSEHOLDS
LdHEREAS, approximately 10-15% of the inquires for
housing rehabilitation assistance are for emergency housing
repairs;
WHEREAS, the present Housing Rehabilitation Program
does not provide assistance for homeowners in need of emergency
repairs, and;
WHEREAS, it is the purpose of the Housing Rehabilita-
tion Program to provide safe, decent, and sanitary housing to
the community and bring all assisted units into compliance with
the Rehabilitation Standards and extend their useful life not
less than twenty years;
NOW THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Lynwood
does hereby find, determine, order and resolve as follows:
_ection 1_ Section 4.08 of the Housing Rehabilitation
Regulations ?4anual is hereby added to reflect the es*ablishment
of the Emergency Housing Assistance Program (EHAP) to prcvide
emergency grant assistance to owner-occupied single family
dwellings in an amount not to exceed $3500 for qualifying house-
holds.
Section 2. This Resolution shall become effective
immediately upon its adoption.
PASSED, APPROVED and ADOPTED this 5th day of
March 1985.
