Regular Meeting
The Board of Trustees of the Town of Livermore met
in regular session at the above written place and
date at 7.30 oclock P. M.
Present Trustees Beck, Mathiesen(sic), Murphy, Ryan
Absent Trustee Knox.
On motion Trustee Murphy was Elected President
Pro tem.
The minutes of the last regular and adjourned
meetings were read and approved
The regular monthly reports of Clerk, Marshal
and Treasurer were read and ordered filed
The following bills were read, examined and
approved by the finance committee, allowed by
the board and warrants ordered drawn on the
treasury of the several amounts.

Resolution The following Resolution was presented and read.
to purchase New Resolved, that the President of the Board of Trustees
Town of the Town of Livermore is hereby authorized and
Hall directed to execute in the name and on behalf
of the Town of Livermore, a proper contract, with
the Livermore Valley Bank, a corporation. for the
purchase of the following described piece of land, situated
lying and being in the Town of Livermore, County of Alameda
State of California, and particularly described as
follows, to wit:

Being Lot one <1> in Block N Three <3> with
its appurtinances, as the said lot and block are
delineated and so designated upon a certain map

Entitled "Map; of the MLeod Tract Livermore.
Subdivided August 1875. W F Boardman Surveyor."
upon the following terms and conditions, to wit:
the sum of $1000.00 to be paid on or
before the month of January, 1906., $1000 to be
paid on of before the month of January 1907.
being a total sum of $3000; deed to be delivered
on final payment: in case any portion of
the purchase price remains unpaid at the end
of the month of January 1907. it shall be paid
on of before the month of January 1908. For
full particulars reference is here by made to
the contract aforesaid

On motion of Trustee Mathiesen(sic) Seconded by
Trustee Beck, the resolution was adopted
and passed by the following vote
Ayes Trustees Beck, Mathiesen(sic), Murphy, Ryan.

Absent Trustee Knox
On motion of Trustee Beck it was ordered that
a warrant be drawn on the Treasurer form the
General Fund, for the sum of $1000. as first payment
on the contract aforesaid to be delivered when duly
signed and executed
On motion of Trustee Beck seconded by Trustee
Ryan the office of Town Steward was declared
vacant and the Clerk was instructed to notify
W Budworth that his services were no longer
required
It was ordered by the Board that Jacob
$
Johnson be employed, at a monthly salary of 50. -
for himself and one horse to work on streets and do
such other labor as required by the Board
No other business appearing, on motion the Board
adjourned.

The Livermore Water & Power Co presented a
statement, as required by law, of the names and
residences and amount paid for water of each
individual water rate payer, and account of all
revenue derived from all sources, with an itemized
account of expenditures made for supplying water
to customers during the year 1904, to the inhabitants
of the Town of Livermore
The statement was referred to the Ordinance
Committee for investigation
An application for a liquor license was received
J G Thomas from J G Thomas, to do business in the Mint Saloon
granted on First Street between K and L streets, the
Liq license application was signed by the following named free
holders, viz. Hans R Anderson, Max Berlin, D. F.
Bernal, Chris Schmidt, Theo Gorner and J H Dutcher
On motion of Trustee Mathiesen(sic), Seconded by
Trustee Ryan, the license was granted.
The Clerk was instructed to purchase two
dark lanterns for use of the Night Watchman
Chairman Knox stated to the board that the
Contract between the Livermore Valley Bank
and the Town of Livermore for the purchase
of the building and lot for a new Town Hall

namely lot 1 in Block 3 of the MLeod Tract
had been duly executed and recorded in the
County Recorders office _ The contract was read
and a copy thereof , duly certified, ordered filed
with the Town Clerk

adoped and passed by the following vote

and attested by the Clerk.

sale of wines and liquors at retail and the
issuing of licenses therefor and the collection thereof
in the Town of Livermore.", Was read for the first time

One motion the Ordinance Committee was instructed
to have the two front rooms of the new Town Hall, papered
painted and prepared for occupancy by the board
On motion the Board took a recess to meet Feby 21st

The Marshal reported that Adolph Grisel was
License of delinquent in the payment of his Liquor license and
A Grisel that he had been unable to collect the same
reovked On motion of Trustee Mathiesen(sic), seconded by
Trustee Ryan the license of Adolph Grisel was
declared revoked and the Marshal instructed
to close his saloon

P Coghlan The President stated that P Coghlan the Nightwatch-
broken leg man was disabled, having broken his leg and that it
would be necessary to appoint same one to fill his
position during his disability.
On motion of Trustee Mathiesen(sic), Seconded by
W E Bangs Trustee Murphy W E Bangs was appointed assistant
appt Night W. Night watchman to serve during the pleasure of
the Board.
There being no further business, on motion
the Board adjourned

The following Resolution was offered by Trustee Ryan:
Resolved that a warrant be ordered drawn on the General
Fund for the sum of $500 and accrued interest, in favor
of the Livermore Valley Bank as part payment on the
contract for the purchase of the new Town Hall.
On motion of Trustee Ryan, seconded by Trustee Beck
the resolution was adopted and passed by the following vote

The Clerk was instructed to draw a warrant for the same
On motion it was ordered that the Chairman is instructed
to purchase the necessary chairs, table, carpet and
linoeleum to furnish the Board room in the new Town
Hall.

The Board of Trustees of the Town of Livermore met
pursuant to adjournment at the above written place

The Ordinance Committee reported a water rate
Water rate Ordinance as follows:

Ordinance Ordinance N __ Entitled an Ordinance Establishing
water rates and fixing the compensation for water
furnished for family uses, for private purposes, for Municipal
uses and all private purposes for the year commencing

July 1st 1905 and ending June 30 1906
The Ordinance was read and passed to second
reading.
The Clerk was instructed to have the Marshal
E Donahue notify Edward Donahue to remove all wagons,
Notified machinery and other obstructions from the street
and sidewalk in front of his premises on First street
within 24 hours of the time of notice and in case the
obstructions were not removed in the time specified
the Marshall is hereby ordered to remove the same
and store them in the Corporation yard

Called Meeting
The Board of Trustees of the Town of Livermore met,
pursuant of a call from the Chairman, at the above
written place and date at 8 oclock P. M.
Present Trustees Knox Mathiesen(sic), Murphy, Ryan.
Absent Trustees Beck, Ryan
President Knox in the Chair
President Knox stated that the meeting had been
called for the purpose of taking measures to move
into the new town hall.
Trustee Murphy offered the following resolution
Resolution
Whereas, the Town of Livermore, through its Board
of Trustees having recently purchased the building
and property situate on the South East corner of

First and MLeod streets.
And Whereas, the said building has been furnished
and fitted for use as a Town Hall
Now Therefore be it Resolved
That the building situated on the South East
C
corner of First and MLeod streets is hereby dedecated
and proclaimed as the Town Hall of Livermore

Resolution Whereas, All saloon licenses are granted by the Town of
on sale of part Livermore are issued on the sworn statement of the individual
interests in or individuals named in the petition of the same that the
Saloons petitioner or petitioners are the only persons interested in the
business, and
Whereas it has come to the Knowledge of this Board that
sales of part interests in Saloons have been made to persons
of whom this Board is not cognizant and who may
or may not be persons to whom a license should be
granted - Now Therefore be it
Resolved, That hereafter any person having a Saloon
License desirous of selling an interest in his business
must first obtain the consent of this Board _ failing
so to do his license may be revoked.

had examined the Annual Reports of the Town Clerk and
Treasurer and found the accounts correct, but when counting

As each member of the Board Trustees informed the
Board that he would be unable to attend the Convention
of the California League of Municipalities to be held
at Chico, on motion it was ordered that the Town Clerk
be sent as a delegate to represent the Town
The Street Committee reported that they had selected
the following route to be used by traction Engines

8 from Lizzie to K, K from 8 to 6, 6 from K to P
thence on P street to Railroad reserve.
On motion this route was adopted and the Marshal
instructed to notify the Traction Co to use said streets

Max A H Berlin presented an application for
permission to obtain a license to engage in the Saloon
business, in the Saloon known as the "Fashion" on
South side of First Street between J and K streets,
premises owned by A Gardella, The application was
signed by free holders Chas S Victor, E Pronzini
D G Bernal. Chris Schmidt and J A Conrad.
It being shown to the Board that it was not a new
place of business but only a change of ownership
and that the applicant was a fit person to conduct
the business, on motion of Trustee Beck seconded
by Trustee Ryan the license was granted
No other business coming before the Board on
motion it adjourned

Called Meeting
The Board of Trustees of the Town of Livermore met
in pursuance of a call by the President at the above
written place and date at 7.30 oclock PM
Present Trustees Knox, Mathiesen(sic), Murphy, Ryan
Absent Trustee Beck
President Knox presiding
The president stated that the meeting had been called for
the purpose of considering the advisability of re advertising
the sale of the old town hall and lots - and such other
business as might come before the board
After some discussion it was moved that the Clerk be
instructed to advertise the sale of said property in
the Livermore Herald and Livermore Echo in accordance
th
with the resolution adopted by this board on June 5 1905,
the bids to be opened and passed on at the Regular
meeting in the month of February
The motion was passed and adopted by unanimous vote
At the request of J G Thomas, he was given permission
to sell a half interest in his Saloon business to William
C Hachman, the firm to do business under the present
liquor license
No other business being presented, On motion the board
adjourned
