A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD ENDORSING
THE GREATER VTATTS ENTERPRISE ZONE
6VHEREAS, on ^'farch 20, 1984, the Governor of the State of
California (State ) signed AB 40 into law thereby creating a State
Enterprise Zone Program; and
L~~REAS, the County and City of Los Angeles are submitting a
preliminary application to the State Department of Coerce for desig-
nation of the Greater Watts connunity as an Enterprise Zone; and
WI~REAS, the City Council hereby finds and determines that it
is necessary and essential and a public purpose for portions of the
City to be included in the Greater 4+'atts Enterprise Zone to help sti-
mulate private sector investment; and
WHERE'~AS, the City certifies that it will complete all Council-
approved actions contained in the preliminary co-application and final co-
application, if applicable, that apply to its jurisdiction.
NOSd, THEREFORE, the City of Lynwood does hereby find, determine,
order and resolve as follows:
Section 1. The City endorses the County of Los Angeles'
(County) and City of hos Angeles' (City) preliminary application for
Greater Tn~atts Enterprise Zone designation. The application area is
shown on the map attached hereto as Attachment I.
Section 2. The City agrees to the inclusion of the area
~ within its jurisdiction, as noted on the attached map, as part of the
~ application area for the proposed Greater Watts Enterprise Zone.
' Section 3. The City does not wish to participate independently
as an applicant for enterprise zone designation.
Section 4. The City will carry out all actions stated in the
preliminary co-application and final co-application, if applicable, cdnich
apply to its jurisdiction.
Section 5. This resolution shall take effect immediately
upon its adoption.
