RESOLUTION NO.2015-051
A RESOLUTION ADOPTING A JOB DESCRIPTION FOR
MAINTENANCE WORKER,DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS
WHEREAS,the City Council of the City of Tiffin, Iowa desires to effectively employ and
engage its staff and seeks to identify the skills,training and education needed so as to communicate.
expectations, duties and responsibilities of its personnel; and,
WHEREAS,wishes to fill a vacancy in the Public Works Department for a Maintenance Worker,
and finds that the current job description does not adequately address the needs and requirements of the
position; and,
WHEREAS,the City Administrator has'researched the needs of the position with the City's
Director and Assistant Director of Public Works and incorporated those qualifications and expectations in
a job description for consideration by the City Council to assist in the selection process of candidates and
establish the expectations of the position of Maintenance Worker.
NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Tiffin, Iowa to
approve and adopt a job description for the position of"Maintenance Worker—Public Works", dated
April 15, 2015 and attached and made a part of this resolution.
On the 22nd day of April, 2015, at a regular meeting of the Tiffin City Council,Tiffin, Iowa,
Councilperson Kahler introduced Resolution No.•2015-051,A RESOLUTION ADOPTING A JOB
•DESCRIPTION FOR MAINTENANCE WORKER,DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS and made a
motion for approval—Motion seconded-by Councilperson Bartels .
AYE: Peggy Upton, Jim Bartels,Al Havens,Joan Kahler
NAY: NONE -
PASSED: YES
ABSENT: Mike Ryan
Whereupon four Council members were present and voted approval and Mayor Berner declared that the
Resolution No.2015-051,A RESOLUTION ADOPTING A JOB DESCRIPTION FOR
MAINTENANCE WORKER,DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS to be adopted and signified his
approval of the same by affixing his signature thereto. •
Passed by the City Council on the 22nd day of April, 2015. ■
