A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL GF THE
CITY OF LYNWOOD TO APPROVE A CONTRACT
AGREEMENT WITH THE LONG BEACH FAIR HOUSING
FOUNDATION FOR THE PROVISION OF CONTINUED
FAIR HOUSING SERVICES TO LYNWOOD RESIDENTS
FOR FISCAL YEAR 1985-86 (JULY 1, 1985 -
JUNE 30, 1986)
WHEREAS, since May of 1975, the City has participated
in a Cooperation Agreement with Los Angeles County through the
Los Angeles Urban County Community Development Block Grant (CDBG)
Program where the City subcontracts with the Long Beach Fair
Housing Foundation to provide Fair Housing Services to Lynwood
residents;
WHEREAS, on June 30, 1985, the City of Lynwood will
become a separate Entitlement City and will no longer partici-
pate in the Urban County Block Grant Program and Long Beach
Fair Housing Foundation Program;
WHEREAS, under Federal Regulations, cities that
participate in the Community Development Block Grant Program
are required to "Affirmatively Further Fair Housing:'
WHEREAS, the Council approved the City's CDBG State-
ment as final on April 2, 1985 and the City submitted the Final
Statement to HUD on May 31, 1985, including its fair housing
certification;
NOW THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Lynwood
does hereby find, determine, order and resolve as follows:
SECTION 1. Approve and adopt the attached Contract
Agreement with the Long Beach Fair Housing Foundation to pro-
vide Fair Housing Services to Lynwood residents for Fiscal
Year 1985-86;
SECTION 2. Authorize the Mayor to execute the
attached Cooperation Agreement with the Long Beach Fair Housing
Foundation;
SECTION 3. This Resolution shall become effective
immediately upon its adoption.
PASSED, APPROVED and ADOPTED this 18th day of JUNE
1985.
