A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF LYNWOOD APPROVING AN AMENDMENT TO THE JOINT
EXERCISE OF POWERS AGREEMENT FOR INSURANCE AND
RISK MANAGEMENT PURPOSES
WHEREAS, the City of Lynwood is a member of the Independent Cities
Risk Management Authority (ICRMA); and

WHEREAS, the City of Lynwood is also a member of the Independent
Cities Association (ICA); and
WHEREAS, the ICA has for several years provided staff service and
support to ICRMA; and
WHEREAS, the ICRMA and the ICA do lend support to each other in many
activities of mutual interest and benefit; and
WHEREAS, it would be to the advantage of both organizations to create
a formal relationship.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City of Lynwood does hereby
approve the following amendment to the Joint Exercise of Powers Agreement for
Insurance and Risk Management Purposes to ensure that a formal alliance is
established and maintained between the ICRMA and the ICA
ARTICLE XIV. MEMBER CITIES
With the approval of two-thirds of the Governing Board any City
may become a party to this agreement. Continuing or new member-
~~ ship is restricted to cities who are members of the Independent
Cities Association (but only so long as the Independent Cities
Association provides administrative support services to the
Authority) and are located in Los Angeles County or counties
contiguous to Los Angeles County. A city requesting membership
shall apply by presenting to the authority~a resolution of the
city's elected body agreeing to the Authority agreement and the
individual risk management committees by-laws that the city intends
to join •. The date that the applying city will become a member city
will be determined by the Governing Board.
PASSED, APPROVED and ADOPTED this 6th day of AugUSt 1985.
