APPROVING SUBMISSION OF WORKABLE
RELOCATION ASSISTANCE PLAN
WHEREAS, on February 25, 2004, the Borough and Kaplan at Carteret, LLC entered
into a Redevelopment Agreement for the redevelopment of the Lower Roosevelt Avenue
Redevelopment Area ("Redevelopment Agreement"); and
WHEREAS, the implementation of the Redevelopment Agreement requires the
condemnation of property and the relocation of residential and commercial property
owners and tènants; and i
WHEREAS, pursuant to state law and regulation, such relocation, may not occur prior to
the approval of a Workable Relocation Assistance Plan by the New Jersey Department of
Community Affairs; and
WHEREAS, the Borough has prepared a draft Workable Relocation Assistance Plan and
submitted such plan to CARA for review and comment, a copy of which is attached
hereto.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor and Council of the Borough
of Carteret finds the attached Workable Relocation Assistance Plan to be appropriate for
the purpose of accomplishing relocation within the Lower Roosevelt Avenue
Redevelopment Area; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that a copy of said pIan shall be submitted to the
Department of Community Affairs.
