Call to Order – 5:30 PM
A. Roll Call
The City of Tiffin City Council held a special session on Tuesday, April 30, 2019 at the Tiffin
City Hall Council Chambers. Mayor Steve Berner called the meeting to order at 5:31 PM.
Upon roll being called the following members were present: Eric Schnedler, Peggy Upton, Jim
Bartels and Al Havens (via Conference Call @ 5:31 pm ). Absent: Mike Ryan. Other present
City Administrator Doug Boldt, City Clerk Ashley Platz, Building Official Brian Shay, City
Engineer Ben Carhoff, City Attorney Bob Michael and others present.
B. Agenda Additions/Agenda Approval
Motion to approve the agenda by Upton.
Second by Schnedler.
All ayes, motion carried.
C. Discussion and Update of Park Place Development
Discussion: Scott Anderson, Developer gave a history of the area he is developing from
Woodfield Ridge, Anderson Addition and Park Place. Wanted council to think about the
medians in the residential and commercial Park Place developments. Does council want to
rock, sod, landscape or pave? Any option will need to be maintained by the City so he would
like Council to direct him on this matter. Park Rd tunnel is installed already so trail access so
kids can cross Park Rd safely to get to the Elementary schools. Gave updates on Park Place
City Center, Aster Village and our first commercial tenant Fleet Farm will be coming to Park
Place City Center on a 25-acre lot plan on opening next spring. Traffic Lights at Oakdale and
Park Rd have been ordered should be arriving June or July.
D. Discussion and Consideration of 2019 Park Road Paving Project
Discussion: Paving from north of the Tiffin Elementary to the north of the Brandt Property.
Discussed to have Hart-Frederick to rebid the project. This will be a temporary paving project.
