A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OP TFIE CITY OF
LYNIVOOD, CALIFORNIA, RECITING TI-IE PAC I' OF TFIE
GENERAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION FIELD IN SAID CITY ON
NOVEMBER S, 1985, DECLARING '1'IIE RESULT' THEREOF
AND SUCII OTIIF.R MATTERS AS ARE PROVIDED BY LAW
WHEREAS, a General Municipal Election was held and con-
, ducted in the City of Lynwood, California, on Tuesday, November S,
1985, as required by ].aw; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution No. 85-81 adopted
June 18, 1985, the election was consolidated with the General
Municipal Election and the Registrar canvassed the returns of said
election and has certified the results to this City Council, said
results are received, attached and made a part hereof as
"Exhibit A"; and
WHEREAS, notice of said election was duly and regularly
given in time, form and manner as provided by law; and that in a1.1.
respects said election was held and conducted and the votes cast
thereat, received and canvassed and the returns made and declared
in time, form and manner as required by the provisions of the
L'•l.ection Code of the State of Cal.iforni.a.
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Lynwood
does hereby resolve, declare, determine and order as :Follows:
Section 1. That there were 12 voting precincts estab-
lished. fer the purpose of holding said election consisting of the
regular election precincts i.n sa~.d City as establ:i.shed for the
holding of state and county elections.
Section 2. That said General Mun.i.ci.pal Election was
held for the purpose of. electing the following officers of said
City as required by laws relating to cities in the State of
California; to wit:
Three (3) D4embers of the City Council of said City
for one (1) term of four (4) years.
Section 3. That the whole number of votes case i.n said
City was 3,146.
That the names of person voted for at said election for
D}embers of the City Council are as follows:
Charles Dickens Carlos Manlapaz
Louis Fleine Benito R. Nfiranda
Lee 0. Sampson Louis A. Thompson
Alfreddie Johnson, Jr. James E. Rowe
Iris Pygatt Evelyn M. l4ells
E. L. Morris David James ltiillis, Jr.
that:
Section 4. The City Council does declare and. determine
- E. L. Morris was elected as Member of the City Council
of said City for the full term of four years;
Louis A. Thompson was elected ,Member of the City Council
of said City for the full term of: four years;
Evelyn M. R'el.ls was elected as Member of the City Council
of said City for the full. term of four years.
Section S. The City Clerk shall enter on the records
of the City Council of said City, a statement of the results o:E
said election showing:
(1) The whole number of votes cast in the City;
(2) The names of the persons voted for;
(3) For what office each person was voted for.
Section 6. 'that the City Clerk shall immediately make
and deliver to each o:f: such persons so elected a Certificate of
F..lection signed by the City Clerk and duly authenticated; that the
City Clerk shall. also administer to each person elected, the Oath
of Of:f:ice prescribed in the State Constitution of the State of
California and shall have them subscribe thereto and file the
same in the office of the City Clerk. T4hereupon, each and all of
said persons so elected shall be inducted into the respective
office to which they have been elected.
Section 7. That the City Clerk shall certify to the
passage an a option of this Resolution, shall enter the same in
the book of original Resolutions of said City; and shall made a
minute order of passage and adoption thereof in the records of:
the proceedings of the City Council of said City, in the minutes
of the meeting at which the same is passed and. adopted.
PASSED, APPROVEll and ADOPTED on 3rd day of
December 1985.

County of Los Angeles, State of: Cali:(`ornia, duly authorized by
Resolution No. 85-81, adopted by the City Council o.f: said City on
the 18th day of June, 1985, do hereby certify that the Registrar of
Voters has canvassed the return o:f: the regular General Municipal
Election held :i.n sai.d City on the 5th day of November, 1985, and
~ find that the number o:f. votes given to each precinct and the number
or votes given in the City of Lynwood, persons voted for the
respective offices for which said persons were candidates as shown
on Resolution and Exhibit A, i.s true and correct.
