As an energetic, flexible, and customer-service oriented librarian, I was excited about
the opening for the position of Assistant Director opportunity to serve as the Young Adult
Librarian at the Hopkinton Public Library. With my background in leadership, budgeting,
supervision, programming, organization, and marketing, I believe that I am well suited
for this position. I also relish the opportunity to grow as a library professional and
challenge myself to find innovative ways to serve Hopkinton Public Library patrons.
In my 13 years of management experience with the Army, I have often had to deal with
difficult situations, especially regarding my youngest and most vulnerable Soldiers, many
still in their teenage years. It was through working with these great young people that
my interest in YA librarianship was piqued. I knew that I wanted to serve young adults in
my civilian career, so when choosing my MLIS focus I decided that my best way to
positively impact my community would be to study to become a Youth Services
Librarian. In my time working in libraries, seeing my young adult customers has always
been the highlight of my day. So many people love YA literature, but not as many really
enjoy young adults themselves. I truly enjoy young adults, from discussing their
recreational and information needs, to interacting with them during library programs.
In addition to my experience in military management and work in library settings, I am
also versed in the latest teachings in library and information science field. As a recent
MLIS graduate from Simmons University, I am dedicated to applying the best practices
for library service and continuing to provide the best service to Hopkinton Library
patrons, especially the wonderful young people who make up HPL's Young Adult
community. Thank you for your time and consideration.
Sincerely,
Jessica "Jak" Miller

I am writing to share with you both my interest in the Senior Center
Van Driver position and my unique qualifications for that role.
I have been a resident of Hopkinton for more than twenty-four years
and one of my life passions is building a sense of connectedness
throughout the community. During my time in Hopkinton, I have
seen how the role and culture of the Senior Center in our community
has developed into a diverse and vibrant gathering point for our older
population, meeting real physical, emotional and relational needs as
well as fostering true community. It is the possibility of being able to
help contribute to this culture that excites me about this role.
As you will see from my enclosed resume, I have strong relational
and service-oriented skills with people of all ages. Most recently I
have been certified as both an End-of-Life Doula as well as a
Spiritual Director, growing in my ability to listen to and be present
with people who are in the dying process or are seeking to grow
spiritually. During my nearly ten years on staff leading Student
Ministry at Faith Community Church, I built lasting relationships with
both students and parents, in addition to recruiting, training, and
leading a volunteer staff of more than 50 adults.
Additionally, I have the practical and technical skills you are looking
for. I have a clean driving record (almost 40 years) and have
extensive experience driving 15-passenger vans and box trucks in
my role with students at Faith Community Church. Technically, I
have very strong organizational skills, computer proficiency, and an
ability to efficiently multi-task and get things done.
I am confident that my skills and experience position me to be very
successful in this role, and I whole-heartedly support the mission of
our local Senior Center to continue making a significant impact in the
life of the community. I would look forward to the opportunity to
become a part of that team. Thank you for taking the time to review
my resume. I look forward to talking with you.
Sincerely,
Karen Cooprider

Shannon N. Beloin August 12, 2021 Ms. Kristin Merrill 18 Main Street Hopkinton, MAO 1748 (508) 497-9769, x3Dear Ms. Merrill, I am writing to express my interest in the position of full-time police officer for the Hopkinton Police Department. I have two years and eleven months of full-time police officer experience with the Provincetown Police Department. I graduated from the Massachusetts Bay Transit Authority (MBTA) Police Academy. Prior to that, I started with the Provincetown Police Department and served as a community service officer followed by two seasons as a reserve police officer. I graduated from Bridgewater State University Summa Cum Laude with a bachelor of science degree in criminal justice and a double-minor in accounting and finance as well as management. During that time, I was able to balance attending classes full-time, a work study job, attending the reserve police academy, and interning under the chief of police at the Somerset Police Department. I believe these experiences have prepared me well for a position within your police department. In my current position, I conduct patrol duties as well as respond to calls as a school resource officer (SRO). I acquired the SRO certification in November of 2019 through the National Association of School Resource Officers (NASRO). I respond to requests for service, investigate various crimes, perform traffic stops, and enforce laws as well as ordinances. Recently, I was certified as a background investigator as well as a sexual assault investigator. I am also mountain bike patrol certified. I am currently in a master of science program at Michigan State University for law enforcement intelligence and analysis. It would be an honor to work as a member of the Hopkinton Police Department. I believe my past and current experience has shaped me into a well-rounded officer with experience in a multitude of areas. Hopkinton is a vibrant community with deeply historic roots. Provincetown, Massachusetts holds one of the most diverse communities in the country. Experience in such an environment will allow me to adapt to a town such as Hopkinton with efficiency and resiliency, particularly as I am ambitious in what I set my mind to. My training and overall life experience will allow me to handle stressful situations while maintaining a calm and direct demeanor. I look forward to discussing this opportunity with you at your convenience. Thank you for your time and consideration. Respectfully Submitted, Shannon N. Beloin
