A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD
ORDERING THE VACATION AND ABANDONMENT FOR PUBLIC
PURPOSES OF THAT PORTION OF THE FIRST ALLEY EAST OF EAST
ALAMEDA STREET BETWEEN 110TH STREET AND l.ll'PH STREET, AS
SHOWN ON THE MAP OF TRACT N0. 5418, IN THE CITY OF LYNWOOD,
~ IN THE COUNTY OF LOS ANGELF,S, MAP BOOR 59, PAGE 42 OF
MAPS IN THE OFFICE OF THE LOS ANGELES COUNTY RECORDER.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Lynwood did,
on the 17th day of December, 1985, adopt a Resolution No. 85-154,
declaring its intention to vacate that portion of the first alley
east of East Alameda Street between 110th Street and 111th Street
in the City of Lynwood, as hereinafter described, and
WHEREAS, notices of said vacation were published and
posted in the time, form and manner required by law, and
WHEREAS, a Public Hearing on the matter was held on the
21st day of January, 1986, as prescribed by law,
NOW, THERfiFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of
the City of Lynwood as follows:
Section 1_ That the following described alley easement
is unnecessary for present or prospective public use, and that
the public interest, necessity, and convenience require, and the
City Council of said City hereby declares its order to vacate and
abandon said alley easement;
That portion of alley, within block 7, as
shown and dedicated on the Map Tract No. 5418,
in the City of Lynwood, in the County of Los
Angeles, State of California, recorded in Book
59, Page 42 of Maps, in the office of the County
Recorder of said County, described as follows:
Beginning at the most Northerly corner of
Lot 1 in said Block 7; thence Easterly in a
direct line to the most Westerly corner of Lot
11 in said block; thence Southeasterly along
the Southwesterly line of said I.ot 11 and its
Southeasterly prolongation to the Southwest corner
of Lot 33 in said block; thence Westerly along the
Westerly prolongation of the Southerly line of said
Lot 33 to the intersection with the Northeasterly
prolongation of the Southeasterly line of Lot 10
in said block; thence Southwesterly along said last
mentioned prolongation to the most Easterly corner
of said Lot 10; thence Northwesterly along the
Northeasterly line of said Lot 10 and its
Northwesterly prolongation to the point of beginning.
Section 2_ That the City of Lynwood reserves an
~ easement in, over, or upon said above described property for the
construction, erection, and/or maintenance therein of public
~~ utilities.
S_e_ction 3. That an easement be reserved for the
Pacific Telephone and Telegraph Company to and from time to time
r_onstruct, maintain, operate, replace, remove and renew such
aerial and underground communication facilities (inc_luding
ingress thereto and agress therefrom) consisting of poles,
anchors, guys, cables, wires, crossarms, conduits, manholes,
handholes, markers, pedestals, terminal equipment cabinets,
electrical conductors and necessary fixtures and appurtenances.
Section 4_ That an easement be reserved for the
Southern California Gas Company, a corporation organized and
existing under and by virtue of the laws of the State of
California, their successors and assigns, a right-of-way to lay,
construct, maintain, operate, repair, renew, change the size of and
remove one or more pipelines, with metering, measuring, regulating,
and other equipment for the transportation of gas, petroleum
products and other substances with the right of ingress and egress
to and from the same, over, under and along said above described
property.
Section 5_ That a fire lane (clear passage) shall be
maintained over said above described property.
Section 6_ That a Knox Box, for the use of the Lynwood
Fire Department containing keys to any gates used to close said
above described property, be installed by the property owners.
Section 7_ That the City Clerk of the City of Lynwood
shall cause a certified copy of said order to be recorded in the
office of the Recorder of Los Angeles County.
Section 9_ This resolution shall take effect
immediately upon its adoption.
PASSED, APPROVED and ADOPTED this 21st day of January, 1986.
