is A special meeting of the Council was held on October,25, 1978 for two purposes:
1. For the purpose of fixing the tax levy for the year 1979 and
2. For the purpose of obtaining written and oral comment :From the
public on the proposed uses of revenue sharing funds in the
upcoming budget for 1979.

Publication was made in the Daily Journal/American/giving notice of this
special meeting to consider the above -mentioned subjects.
Those in attendance were Mayor Minor Lile, Council Carson Wheeler, Jeanne
Whiting and Juanita Loder. Also in attendance was Lorraine Diede, Clerk/
Treasurer.
The meeting was called to order by the Mayor at 7:30 P. M.

Year 1979" was read.
The Mayor asked the Clerk/Treasurer to present a resume of the figures
cantaifted within proposed Ordinance:-#229.
Mrs. Diede reviewed with the Council the calculations received from the
King County Assessors office outlining (1) a 1.735 Levy Rate*and (2) a
dollar amount of $53,368.40 which is the maximum 1979 Levy based on the
1060 limit.
It was noted that the worksheet calculations from the King County assessor's
office included an amount of $613.10 which represents our (the Towns)
of the "Burlington Northern Decision", a term used for inter -county utility
companies now being assessed at the same level as all other real and personal
property in the County - retroactive for six years.
It was also noted that the worksheet presented by the King County Assessor
contained an error in addition - showing the 1979 maximum levy based on 106%
as $52,368.40 which should have been $53,368.40. Mrs. Diede stated she had
contacted Mr. Van De Putte of the Assessor's office who confirmed the figure
should be $53,368.40.
Discussion took place among the Council.
The Mayor asked if there were any comments from the public. No -representation
of the public was in attendance.
Carson Wheeler then made a motion that•proposed Ordinance #229 setting the tax
levy rate for the calendar year 1979 @ 1:735.-•with a dollar amount resulting
of $53,368.40 be adopted. Seconded by Jeanne Whiting. No further discussion.
Passed unanimously.
Copies of Ordinance #229 will be forwarded to the Council Administrator -Clerk
of King County Council and to the King County Assessor.

The Council discussed the continued used of Uxenue Sharing Funds as partial.
payment of the.police protection costs -- as these funds as been used in the past
since Federal Revenue Sharing funds became available.
After discussion, a motion was made by Carson Wheeler, secon:l.ed by .Jeanne Whiting
that the $3,729.00 anticipated to be received in 1979 from the Federal Government
as Federal R-Evenue Snaring FLmds be placed in the Current Expense Fund as partial
payment for police protection services suppliea under contract to Yarrow Point by
the City of M'edi.na. The !potion was passed unanimously.
The meeting was adjourned at 9:00 P. I4.
