A RESOLUTION OF TIC CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OP LYNWOOD
TO JOIN WITH CERTAIN OTHER CITIES FOR INSURANCE AND RISK
MANAGEMENT PURPOSES
WHEREAS, Sections 990, 990.4, 990.6, 990.8, and 6500-6515 of the Govern-
ment Code of the State of California, and Section 3700 of the Labor Code authorizes
municipalities to jointly exercise the power to manage their common risks; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Lynwood supports the purposes of
the Independent Cities Risk Management Authority; and
WHEREAS, the members of the Governing Board of the Independent Cities Risk
Management Authority have studied and approved the Amendment to Joint Exercise of
Powers Agreement For Insurance and Risk Management Purposes dated May 21, 1986 and
Risk Management Committee By-Laws.
NOW, TIC BEFORE, the City Council of the City of Lynwood does hereby find,
determine, order and resolve as follows:
Section 1. That the City of Lynwood does hereby approve and agree
to abide by all of the terms and conditions of the Independent Cities
Risk Management Authority's Amendment To Joint Exercise of Powers
Agreements For Insurance and Risk Management Purposes dated May 21,
1986 and the Liabilit;~ Risk Management Committee By-Laws.
Section 2. That the City of Lynwood does hereby join with cerl:ain
other municipalities as a member of the Independent Cities Risl:
Management Authority's Liability Risk Management Committee(s).
Section 3. That the City of Lynwood does hereby join other c.~.ties i^
accepting the Liability insurance quotations of the Inaepende.~t Cities
Risk Management Authority. "-' ,
Section 4. That the Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized and
directed to execute the Amendment to Joint Exercise of Powe-.'s Agi^_ement
For Insurance and Risk Management Purposes dated May 21, 19-iti er. beha'`f
of the City of Lynwood. "
Section 5. That the City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this
resolution and thenceforth and thereafter the same shall be in full force
a.nd effect.
Section 6. This resolution shall become effective immediately upon its
adoption.
