CODE.
WHEREAS, the City Council o:[ the City of Lynwood
~ ca]1ed a Special Municipal Election to be held on November 4,
1986, for the purpose of the election of Member of the City
Counci_:1, for the term o:f office in which a vacancy was created
and which ends November, 1989; and
Wh[ERP,AS, it i.s desirable that the Special municipal
election be consolidated with the Stateti,~ide General election
to be held on the same date and that wi.thi-n the city the
precincts, polling places and election officers o£ the two
elections be the same, and that the county election department
of the County o:C Los Angeles canvass the returns of the Special
Municipal Llcct:ion and that the election be held in all respects
as i:f there were only one election;

Section 1. That pursuant to the requirements o:E
Section 23302 of the Elections Code, the Board of Supervisors
of the County of Los Angeles :i.s hereby requested to consent and
agree to the consolidation of a Special Municipal Election with
the Statew:i.de General el.ecti_on on Tuesday, November 4, ].986, for
the purpose of the election of a Member of the City Council, :for
the term of office i-n which a vacancy was created and which ends
November, 1989.
Section 2. That the county election department is
authorized to canvass the returns of the Special Municipal Elec-
t9on. The election shall be held i_n all respects as if there
were on:Ly one election, and only one form oaf: ballot shall be
used.
Section 3. 'That the Board of Supervisors is requested
to :issue instructions to the county election department to take
any and al.] steps necessary _for the holding of the consol_i_dated
election.
Section 4. 'What the City o:E Lynwood recognizes that
additi_ona1. costs iaill. be incurred by the County by reason of this
consolidation and agrees to reimburse the County :for any costs.
Section S. 'that the City Clerk is hereby directed to
file a cert~-~i~d copy of this resolution with the Board of Super-
visors and. the county election department of the County of I,os
Angeles.

passage an adoption of this resolution and enter it into the
book of original resolution.
