APPROVING A PROFESSIONAL SERVICES CONTRACT - KAPLAN,
GAUNT AND DESANTIS ARCHITECTS
WHEREAS, there exists the need for expert architectural services with regard to
the proposed alterations to the Carteret Municipal Building; and
WHEREAS, Kaplan Gaunt DeSantis Architects possesses the possesses the
requisite experience and expertise to provide said expert architectural services;
and
WHEREAS, Kaplan Gaunt DeSantis Architects has submitted a proposal setting
forth a schedule of hourly rates to be billed by members of its professional staff
I when providing said expert services; and

I WHEREAS, the Borough Attorney has recommended that the Governing Body
provide an authorization not to exceed $5,500.00 to engage Kaplan Gaunt
DeSantis Architects to provide expert architectural services; and
WHEREAS, the Chief Financial Officer has certified that funds are or will be
available for said purpose.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and Council of the
Borough ofCarteret, County of Middlesex, State of New Jersey, as follows:
1. That a contract with Kaplan Gaunt DeSantis Architects, is
hereby retained to provide expert architectural services in
an amount not to exceed $5500.00 is hereby approved.
2. This contract is made as an award of a professional services
contract.
3. A copy of this Resolution is to be forwarded to Kaplan
Gaunt DeSantis Architects, and the Purchasing Department.
Adopted this 7th day of October, 2004
and certified as a true copy of the
original on October 8, 2004.
