Construction Begins on Re-Designing Town Green
Leesburg, VA (September 17, 2021) –
Construction of the Town Green is
underway. The renovation project is part
of phase one of the Town Hall campus
improvements, a Capital Improvement
Project that aims to transform public
spaces on the property.
The project will replace four circular
benches and planting containers, near
Market Street, with an updated
landscaping area that will include new
trees and improved soil for healthy long-term tree growth, along with landscaped beds and
seating areas. The project is expected to be completed in November.
The Town Green is a public gathering area for events like Acoustic on the Green and the annual
Christmas Tree & Menorah Lighting Ceremony. A permanent state was constructed in 2016.
The Town Hall Campus Master Plan serves as a resource to guide To wn leaders when making
decisions on what future uses and enhancements may be appropriate for the Town Hall campus
