A RESOLUTION OF THE GOVERNING BODY OF MOAB CITY AMENDING
RESOLUTION 03-94 ESTABLISHING POLICIES AND PROCEDURES FOR THE
SETTING OF AGENDAS FOR GENERAL MEETINGS OF THE MOAB CITY COUNCIL.
WHEREAS, Moab City has authority to establish its own policies
and procedures for conducting its meeting pursuant to Utah Code
Annotated 10-3-606; and
WHEREAS, Moab City wishes to previously set up an orderly
system for setting the agenda for items to be discussed by the
governing body of Moab City;
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE GOVERNING BODY OF MOAB
CITY as follows:
1. The following is hereby adopted as the procedure for
putting items on the agenda for the regular and general meetings of
the governing body of Moab City:
A. No item shall be placed on the agenda for the meetings of
the governing body of Moab City unless such item is submitted to
the City Recorder on or before 5:00 p.m. on the Thursday preceding
the regularly scheduled meetings of the Moab City council.
B. Items which are not submitted to the City Recorder on or
before 5:00 p.m. of the Thursday preceding the regularly scheduled
meetings of the Moab City council shall be placed on the agenda of
the next regular meeting of the Moab City council.
C. Matters of an emergency nature which are not submitted to
the City Recorder in a timely fashion, may only be placed on the
agenda of the Moab City council upon the following procedure.
1. Such items are approved by the City Manager; and
2. Such items are requested to be placed on the agenda
by at least two members of the Moab City governing body; or
3. Such items are requested to be placed on the agenda
by the Mayor.
D. Notwithstanding the above requirements, no item may be
placed on the agenda for meeting of the Moab City council in
contravention of the Utah Open and Public Meetings Act which
requires at least 24 hours notice of any action to be taken by the
governing body of Moab City.
2. This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon
passage.
