The motion passed unanimously. Approval of Minutes Mr. Berendzen moved and Ms. Deetz seconded to approve the minutes from the May 12, 2020 Regular Meeting as written. The motion passed unanimously. Communication Received Ms. Senzee stated that no communications have been received. Demolition Review-Under 100 Years Old Ms. Senzee explained that the following properties are under consideration for demolition review: 1211 Adams Street and 1215 Adams Street are owned by the Jefferson City School District; and 206 E Franklin, 316 Case Avenue and 320 Case Avenue are owned by Capital Region Medical Center. The May 2019 tornado significantly damaged and/or destroyed these properties. These properties do not hold stand-alone historical significance in terms of heritage, cultural or architecturally. Staff recommendation for these properties is demolition. Ms. Jones moved and Mr. Bemboom seconded to approve the demolition review application for the aforementioned properties owned by the Jefferson City School District. The motion passed unanimously. Ms. Jones moved and Mr. Wheat seconded to approve the demolition review application for the aforementioned properties owned by Capital Region Medical Center. The motion passed unanimously. Section 106 Reviw-1528 Hayselton Drive Ms. Senzee explained that the homeowner has been approved to participate in the CDBG Minor Home Repair Program. The proposed project is to replace the natural gas furnace and the current central air unit with energy efficiency units. The residential structure was constructed in 1955 and is not listed individually on the register or within a historic district. Staff recommends approval of the Section 106 Review as no historic properties are affected. Ms. Deetz moved and Mr. Bemboom seconded to approve the Section 106 review. The motion passed unanimously. B. National Register Nomination – J.B. Bruns Shoe Co. (River Park), 627 W. McCarty St. Ms. Senzee explained that 627 W. McCarty Street was a National Register Nominee. She stated that the form that was provided needed to be filled out as a committee. Ms. Deetz move and Ms. Jones seconded to support the nomination for the National Register. The motion passed unanimously. Other Business A. National Alliance of Preservation Commissions – FORUM 2020 at Home Ms. Senzee explained that she had planned to attend the conference in Tacoma. Due to Covid-19, they will now be offering in a virtual format. It will be $100 per person for the virtual conference. City staff was not able to attend training this year, so there is money in the budget if any of the HPC members would like to attend. Please send an email to Ms. Senzee or Ms. Stratman. B. Gregory Stockard Award Ms. Senzee stated that Jayme Abbott had been selected to receive the award this year. She has been notified that she will be receiving the award. She asked the Commission how and when they would like to present the award. Mr. Berendzen suggested we present it to her at the next in person meeting. C. Landmark Awards Ms. Senzee suggested that the Mayor go to each house with the Commission members and present the award and take a picture in front of the house.
