In advance of the storm, residents are asked to remove vehicles, trailers, trash cans and other items from the streets in order to facilitate snow removal operations. Residents are encouraged to check on any elderly or disabled neighbors during and after the storm and, if possible, assist them with clearing their sidewalks and driveways o f snow and ice. The Town does not have the staffing capacity to assist individual residents with snow removal on private property. Other safety precautions during and after the storm include:  Residents should ensure that house numbers are visible from the street for emergency crews.  Residents are asked to clear snow from around any fire hydrants adjacent to their properties. All indications at the present time indicate that this storm could produce up to 24 inches of snow. Snow removal will take time. Primary routes will be cleared first, followed by secondary routes and neighborhood streets. Town crews will be working around the clock until snow removal operations are completed. Residents are asked to be patient and stay off the roads until roads are clear and safe for driving. Residents can call the Leesburg Snow Hotline at 703-777-SNOW for information on current snow removal operations and to report snow-related problems.
