RE: Library card policy
Currently, library patrons must have their library card with them in order to check out materials. Since
we began curbside pickup on May 18, we have not required library cards because of the way the
operation has to work, and there have been no major issues. And, as you know, the majority of
complaints we get have to do with this policy. So, as we work to remove barriers to library service, I am
recommending that we abolish this policy.
Library staff would need to confirm identity, but would not require presentation of a card.
