Leesburg Mayor Kelly Burk Elected to Virginia Municipal
League Executive Board
Leesburg, VA (November 1, 2021) – Leesburg Mayor Kelly Burk
has been elected to the Virginia Municipal League (VML)
Executive Board, at-large seat.
The new leadership was effective October 4, 2021 at the
league’s annual conference and business meeting, in Leesburg.
“I am extremely honored to represent Leesburg on the
executive committee,” Burk said. “Supporting VML's efforts to
represent Virginia's town and cities, with the intent to make all
of us stronger and better places to live and work, is a serious
responsibility that I take with great pride.”
The VML is a statewide, nonprofit, nonpartisan association of
city, town and county governments established in 1905 to
improve and assist local governments through legislative
advocacy, research, education and other services.
The 13-member VML Executive Board is made up of local officials from across the
Commonwealth and manages all affairs of the league, supervises the executive director and
other staff and personnel of the league, and arranges for the Annual Meeting.
The Executive Board meets four times a year (at the VML annual conference, during VML Day at
the Capitol, in May, and in August). For more information regarding VML and its executive
board visit www.vml.org/organization.
