The new leadership was effective October 4, 2021 at the league’s annual conference and business meeting, in Leesburg. “I am extremely honored to represent Leesburg on the executive committee,” Burk said. “Supporting VML's efforts to represent Virginia's town and cities, with the intent to make all of us stronger and better places to live and work, is a serious responsibility that I take with great pride.” The VML is a statewide, nonprofit, nonpartisan association of city, town and county governments established in 1905 to improve and assist local governments through legislative advocacy, research, education and other services.
