Heavy Traffic Expected During Black Friday Shopping
Shoppers should expect heavy traffic congestion in and around the Leesburg
Corner Premium Outlets beginning Friday, November 26, 2021.
Leesburg, VA (November 22, 2021) – Vehicular and pedestrian traffic is expected to be heavily
congested in the area of the Leesburg Premium Outlets, 241 Fort Evans Road, NE, as well as other
local shopping centers around the Town of Leesburg beginning Friday, November 26 and lasting
throughout the weekend.
Heavy traffic is expected to cause traffic delays as traffic volume will exceed roadway capacity.
During times of peak congestion, Leesburg police officers may direct motorists onto less
congested secondary routes to ease traffic movement. Electronic signboards will be deployed
along the secondary routes (Ft. Evans Road & Potomac Station Drive) to guide motorists toward
the main thoroughfares (Routes 7, 15, & 267) via Battlefield Parkway and River Creek Parkway.
Advice to drivers during the heavily attended shopping weekend:
• Remain alert and cautious
• Watch for pedestrians
• Follow police direction
• Remain calm and courteous while driving and parking
Holiday shoppers are also encouraged to lock their vehicles, take valuables with them, and hide
any valuables being left in the car to avoid theft. The Leesburg Police Department will have
officers assigned to various locations impacted by the Thanksgiving weekend shopping events.
To report a non-emergency, please call 703-771-4500.
