Mr. Garrett Mason
56 Oak Grove
Los Gatos, CA 95030
Dear Mr. Mason:
On behalf of the Midpeninsula Regional Open Space District, I'd like to thank
you for your recent efforts in extinguishing a fire at the District's St. Joseph's Hill Open
Space Preserve.
It's my understanding from Supervising Ranger Tom Lausten that you were the
first person on the scene of the fire, and were responsible for ensuring that it didn't
expand to a greater extent. I'm sorry to hear that your shirt was damaged (as your only
firefighting tool!), so I've enclosed a District t-shirt and hat as a small token of our
appreciation.
Again;thank you very much for your efforts. Thanks to you, a larger fire was
avoided. We truly appreciate your dedication to protecting the environment.
ely,
L. raig Britton
