HomeMy Public PortalAbout20230213 - Marathon Fund Committee - Meeting MinutesMarathon Fund Committee February 13 2023 Meeting Minutes HCAM 7:00PM In attendance: Colleen Charleston, Carole Nathan, Chuck Wallace, Absent: Liisa Jackson, Holly Morand Guest: Jeneen Peschutter(Class of 2023 parent) Call to Order by Carole at 7:08PM The minutes to the January 2023 meeting were reviewed. A motion was made by Chuck to accept meeting minutes. The motion was seconded by Carole. The vote was unanimous. Jeneen Peschutter presented the requests from the class of 2023. Asking for help with the Gillette Dinner on Wednesday, May 24, 2023. 70 % of the class attends. Each student can bring 2 parents. $55 per person is paid by family members. Would like payment for DJ and photographer. It was decided to help with the DJ, at $500 for 3 1/2 hours during event. Colleen made a motion to pay for DJ, Carole seconded, vote was unanimous. A request was made to for the police detail needed for the Senior parade being held on Saturday, June 3, 2023. If all spots are filled, the cost would be $2,100. Colleen made a motion to pay up to $2,100 for the police detail. Carole seconded the motion. Chuck recused himself as he is a retired police office. Vote was unanimous. A written request from the Hopkinton Police Association was discussed. The group’s request is to pay for the fish to stock the pond at the Hopkinton Sportsmen’s Association, Family Fishing Derby being held Saturday, May 13, 2023. The cost is $1,500. Carole made a motion to pay $1,500 for the fish, Colleen seconded, vote was unanimous. A written request from the Senior Center was discussed. The request is for $2,000 towards fitness classes held there. The request would help keep costs low for participating seniors. Carole made a motion to pay $2,000 towards fitness classes,Chuck seconded, vote was unanimous. Colleen will write up the requests and drop off at the town hall to be reviewed and approved by the Selectboard. Colleen informed the committee that 2 of the 6 senior scholarships from 2022 had been paid. Colleen said that the advertising of scholarships was done. Caroled shared the write up for the town report. Next meeting dates: Tuesday, March 7 and Tuesday, May 2nd. Meeting adjourned at 7:50PM. Respectfully submitted by Colleen Charleston
