HomeMy Public PortalAbout09-04-2014THE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY OF THE CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA, SEPTEMBER 4, 2014 The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met at 5:00 P.M., Thursday, July 24, 2014, in the Council Chambers at the Municipal Building, 50 North 5th Street, Richmond, Indiana. President Robinson called the meeting to order and the following business was conducted: ROLL CALL Board members present were: Vicki Robinson and Dick Foore. Absent was Tony Foster. Also in attendance were Kim Vessels, Assistant City Attorney; Karen Chasteen, City Clerk; Police Chief and Linda Wolski; Police Lt. Donnie Benedict; City Councilor Phil Quinn; Denise Retz, Cardinal Greenway; Marla Mitrione; Sue Roberson, Human Resources; and, Media. APPROVAL OF MINUTES Mr. Foore moved to approve the August 29, 2014 minutes as presented, supported by Ms. Robinson. Upon a vote viva voce, the motion carried. CLAIMS FOR PAYMENT Mr. Foore moved to approve August 29, 2014 claims in the amount of One Hundred Eighty Four Thousand One Hundred Eighty Five Dollars and seventy four cents ($184,185.74), supported by Ms. Robinson. Upon a vote viva voce, the motion carried. Claims for Payment on September 5, 2014 were not presented. REQUESTS STREET CLOSURES • BURNS AUTO SERVICE AND BURNS WORLD OF MERCHANDISE Event during the Oktoberfest — Alley off of North 11th and Elm Street (behind Atlas Apartments) September 26 — 3 -10 pm September 27 — 8 -8 pm Mr. Foore moved to approve, supported by Ms. Robinson. Upon a vote viva voce, the motion carried. • MARLA MITRIONE —NEIGHBORHOOD BLOCK PARTY Toddsbury Lane October 5, 2014 — 1 — 6 pm Mr. Foore moved to approve, supported by Ms. Robinson. Upon a vote viva voce, the motion carried. Board of Works Minutes September 4, 2014 NOISE VARIANCE • JUS 1 MORE BAR & GRILL —CUSTOMER APPRECIATION DAY Parking Lot located at 743 South 5T" Street 6 -11 pm Mr. Foore moved to approve, supported by Ms. Robinson. Upon a vote viva voce, the motion carried. TRAFFIC CONTROL & STREET CLOSURE • BIKETOURBERFEST September 27, 2014 Start time — 8:30 am Mr. Foore moved to approve and to include the closure of South 2nd Street — Main to US 40 — 8:30 — 9:30 am, supported by Ms. Robinson. Upon a vote viva voce, the motion carried. HANDICAP SIGN RENEWALS 220 North 15th Street 404 North 17th Street Mr. Foore moved to approve, supported by Ms. Robinson. Upon a vote viva voce, the motion carried. BID OPENINGS - None BID AWARDS - None CONTRACTS • CONTRACT NO. 105 -2014 — CARDNO ATC Asbestes investigations of properties located at 1225 South "A" Street and 120 North 14th Street Not to exceed $3,650.00 Mr. Foore moved to approve, supported by Ms. Robinson. Upon a vote viva voce, the motion carried. • CONTRACT NO. 106 -2014 — WETZEL FLEET AND COMMERCIAL SALES One 2014 Ford Mustang Coupe Not to exceed $22,867.00 Mr. Foore moved to approve, supported by Ms. Robinson. Upon a vote viva voce, the motion carried. • CONTRACT NO. 107 -2014 — PENN CARE, INC. Ambulance Lease Not to exceed $200 per day This ambulance will be used until the ambulance which was involved in an accident is repaired. Mr. Foore moved to approve, supported by Ms. Robinson. Upon a vote viva voce, the motion carried. Lt. Benedict is the contact person with the Police Department. ADJOURNMENT After a motion was duly made, the meeting was adjourned.
