THE CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA,
SEPTEMBER 11, 2014
The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met at 5:00 P.M., Thursday,
September 11, 2014, in the Council Chambers at the Municipal Building, 50 North 5th Street, Richmond,
Indiana.
President Robinson called the meeting to order and the following business was conducted
ROLL CALL
Board members present were: Vicki Robinson and Tony Foster. Absent was Dick Foore.
Also in attendance were Kim Vessels, Assistant City Attorney; Monica Burns, Assistant City Clerk; Sue
Roberson, Human Resources; and, Media.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES
The minutes were held until September 18 for approval.
CLAIMS FOR PAYMENT
Mr. Foster moved to approve September 5, 2014 claims in the amount of One Hundred Eighty Six
Thousand Ninety Three Dollars and twelve cents ($186,093.12), supported by Ms. Robinson. Upon a vote
viva voce, the motion carried.
Mr. Foster moved to approve September 12, 2014 claims in the amount of Two Hundred One Thousand
Four Hundred Three Dollars and Seventy Nine Cents ($201,403.79), supported by Ms. Robinson. Upon a
vote viva voce, the motion carried
REQUESTS
BID OPENINGS
• INTERSECTION IMPROVEMENTS -Rich Road and Williamsburg Pike
The following bids were received:
Smarelli Contractors $15,724.00
Pro Lawn Care $23,660.00
These bids were taken under advisement for due diligence.

CONTRACTS
• CONTRACT NO. 108 -2014 — EARLHAM COLLEGE
Memorandum of Understanding re employment/volunteer opportunities
Mr. Foster moved to approve, supported by Ms. Robinson. Upon a vote viva voce, the motion
carried.

Mr. Foster moved to authorize Ms. Roberson to execute the contract on behalf of the City,
supported by Ms. Robinson. Upon a vote viva voce, the motion carried.

Mr. Foster moved to approve, supported by Ms. Robinson. Upon a vote viva voce, the motion
carried.
