APPROVING CHANGE ORDER #3
FOR B & W CONSTRUCTION CO.-
EMERGENCY SERVICES CONTRACT 2004
WHEREAS, the Governing Body of the Borough of Carteret has previously
entered into a contract with B & W Constrnction Co. for the Emergency Services
Contract 2004 in an original contract bid amount of$102,220.00; and
WHEREAS, the Borough's Consulting Engineer for the project, T & M
Associates, has advised the Governing Body that a modification to said contract is
necessary to a!1ow for the reduction of certain pay items and the addition of
certain extra and supplementary items to reflect actual field conditions; and
WHEREAS, the Borough's Consulting Engineer has advised the Governing
Body that said modification was unforeseen at the time of the preparation of plans
and specifications and the bidding for the project; and
WHEREAS, the Borough's Consulting Engineer has recommended that the
contract with B & W Construction be modified in accordance with Change Order
No. 3 (See attached Change Order), providing for an increase in the contract
amount of$14.54; and
WHEREAS, the Governing Body has reviewed Change Order No. 3 and the
recommendation of the Borough Engineer.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and Borough Council
of the Borough ofCarteret, County of Middlesex, State of New Jersey, as fo!1ows:
I. That Contract Change Order No.3, attached hereto and made a part
hereof, resulting in a net decrease of $1.41 in the overa!1 contract
price, including all previously approved change orders, resulting in a
revised contract price of $102,218.59, is hereby approved.

That the appropriate Borough Officials are hereby authorized to
execute Change Order No.3 and process the corresponding payment
request.
3. That a copy of this Resolution and a fully executed copy of Change
Order NO.3 be forwarded to T & M Associates for distribution tö B &
W Construction. Adopted this 16th day of December, 2004
and certified as a true copy of the
original on December 17, 2004.
