A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF TEMPLE CITY ADOPTING THE 1985
EDITION OF THE STANDARD SPECIFICATIONS
FOR PUBLIC WORKS CONSTRUCTION AND THE
1986 SUPPLEMENT.
IWHEREAS, the City adopted the Standard Specifications for
Public Works Construction, 1982 Edition on September 7, 1982 by
Resolution No. 82 -2101; and
WHEREAS, members of the Southern California Chapters of the
American Public Works Association and the Associated General Contrac-
tors of California working as a Joint Cooperative Committee have pre-
pared the 1985 Edition of the Standard Specifications for Public Works
Construction and the 1985 (First Edition) of the Standard Plans for
Public Works Construction, and have compiled the 1986 Supplement to
the 1985 Edition; and
WHEREAS, a uniformity of standards will serve to minimize con-
flict and confusion in public works construction and will tend to
lower construction costs for future public works projects through com-
petitive bidding by private contractors; and
WHEREAS, the City Engineer was represented on the Committee
which prepared the 1985 Edition and recommends its adoption.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TEMPLE CITY
DOES RESOLVE, DETERMINE AND ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. The 1985 Edition of the Standard Specifications for
Public Works Construction, Parts One through Three, and the 1985 Edition
(First Edition) of the Standard Plans for Public Works Construction
prepared by the APWA -AGC Joint Cooperative Committee, and the 1986
Supplement to Standard Specifications for Public Works Construction
(1985 Edition). be adopted.
SECTION 2. The City Clerk is directed to forward a certified
copy of this Resolution to the County's Director of Public Works as the
City's. City Engineer.
