CITY COUNCIL “PRE-MEETING” WORK SESSION, JULY 20, 2020
CALL TO ORDER
In the absence of Mayor Carrie Tergin, President Pro Tempore Carlos Graham called
the July 20, 2020 City Council “Pre-Meeting” to order at 5:45 P.M. to review the agenda.
ATTENDANCE
The following Councilmembers were present when the meeting convened:
Present: Fitzwater, Graham, Hensley, Hussey, Kemna, Lester, Schreiber,
Vogt, and Ward
Absent: Wiseman
A quorum was present.
DISCUSSION OF AGENDA ITEMS
Councilmember Fitzwater will lead the prayer.
Miscellaneous
- Former Councilmembers Rick Mihalevich and Rick Prather will be recognized
for their years of service as councilmembers. State Representative Dave
Griffith will be presenting Missouri House of Representative courtesy
resolutions to each of them.
Appointments
- There is one recommended appointment on the agenda. Gail Strope, Human
Relations Director will present the recommended appointment.
Announcements
- Councilmember Hensley to announce the July Finance Committee meeting,
and Councilmember Graham will annou nce the July Public Safety Committee
meeting.
Consent Agenda Items
- There were no questions on the consent agenda items.
Bills Introduced
- City Staff provided a summary of their introduced bills.
Mayor Carrie Tergin arrived at the meeting at 5:48 P.M.

Pending Bills
- City Staff provided a summary of their pending bills.
Mayor Announcements
- Mayor Tergin will call upon Councilmember Kemna to announce the
Community Park ribbon cutting celebration.
- Mayor Tergin will read the Cole County press release related to mask and
travel recommendations.
- Mayor Tergin has a proposed proclamation related to wearing masks at the
City’s public meetings. She will entertain a motion to ratify the proclamation.
