A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD URGING AND
SUPPORTING STRICTER LAWS GOVERNING THE SALE OF WEAPONS
WHEREAS, much like other Cities across the United States, Lynwood is
experiencing an increase in violent crimes related to the use of guns, and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Lynwood is especially desirous
of legislation calling for the banning of the sale of such weapons as uzies,
automatic rifles and machine guns in particular and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Lynwood supports legislation
limiting the sale of ammunition to only those persons who legally own weapons
and have a license for said weapons.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of Lynwood does
hereby resolve as follows:
Section 1. That it strongly urges and hereby supports legislation for
the control of all weapons and sale of ammunition.
Section 2. That it also .urges our state legislators to immediately
prepare and adopt such legislation as necessary to address those concerns of
increased violence related to the sale and use of weapons.
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the City of Lynwood
held on the 1 st day of March 1988.
