Resolution Approving the Cancellation of the City Council
Meeting Scheduled for Tuesday, December 26, 2023
WHEREAS, Council recognizes that the date of its second regularly scheduled meeting in December falls
on Tuesday, December 26, 2023; and,
WHEREAS, there is generally little business to be conducted at this time of year, and as such, most
business of the Council can be held over to the next regular meeting in January of 2024; and,
WHEREAS, there are certain bills and warrants that the City is obligated to pay in a timely fashion to
avoid penalties and interest with its vendors; and,
WHEREAS, Council wishes to authorize payment of those bills and warrants as necessary; and,
WHEREAS, this action requires no funding source.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Riverdale, Iowa, that:
Section 1: Council will not meet or hold its regular meeting on Tuesday, December 26, 2023, and the
Clerk shall post notice of this cancellation.
Section 2:
Council authorizes payment of those bills and warrants that must be paid in a timely
fashion to avoid penalties and interest, subject to after -the -fact approval of payment by
Council.
