My Place Pub & Deli The building at 4405 State Street has housed many business over the years: Smitty’s Tavern, Monkeys, and Riverdale Pub to name a few! Currently, this is home to neighborhood bar My Place Pub & Deli owned by Jamie Long! Jamie has owned My Place since November of 2014. What started out as strictly a pub now serves food as well. Jamie added the deli in 2021! If you haven’t seen the menu, I recommend taking a peek. You will find things like: French dip sandwiches, pizza, and homestyle chili, among other items. Food is served Monday through Saturday from 11a to 8p. Every Thursday is Taco Thursday, where 3 soft or hard shell tacos are only $5 while supplies last! Families (including children) are welcome to enjoy My Place until the kitchen closes at 8p. After that, My Place is an adult establishment. For entertainment, My Place features karaoke every Tuesday and Sunday, and occasional live music nights. They have a pool table, outdoor dining, and offer carry-out food as well. My Place has done fundraising for charitable events, hosted parties, and donated to many different Quad City organizations, including Arconic, United Steelworkers Union, the VFW, and American Legion, just to name a few. Jamie, herself, lives in Bettendorf. She is a single mother to 3 children and has 4 grandchildren. Fun fact: Jamie’s children, grandchildren, family, and friends (and even customers) have rallied behind her by working, repairing, and bartending at My Place! Jamie has been in the bar industry since the age of 19 and sold real estate for 21 years. As of 2020, her focus has been on My Place. In her free time, Jamie enjoys volunteering, cooking, traveling, live music and theater, spending time with family and friends, and participating in her grandchildren’s events and sports. Jamie hopes to meet you soon! When you head over to My Place, please note their parking area is shared with Duck Creek Pancake House. Date: Tuesday, October 24, 2023 Time: Meet at 3pm Place: Scott County Recycling Center 5640 Carey Ave, Davenport Please call City Hall at 563-355-2511 to reserve your spot . Is there a correct way to drain pools and spas, you ask!? Great question, the answer is yes! Please follow these tips to protect the quality of water entering our nearby ponds, rivers, and streams.  Before draining your pool or spa, let the water sit at least 7 days without adding salt, chlorine, or other chemicals.  If water is drained on the ground, chlorine levels needs to be below 0.1mg/L. The PH should be between 6.5 and 8.5. Both of these must be true before draining.  If water is drained on the ground, drain across at least 15 feet of grass to allow any remaining chemicals to dissipate before reaching the storm drain.  Keep the flow low at 12 gallons per minute to prevent erosion of soil and landscaping.  Do not drain directly onto concrete. Never discharge into the street, gutter, intakes, storms drains, or water ways. The biggest takeaway from this list: NEVER discharge pool or spa water directly into our storm sewer system. Chlorinated water and saltwater is hazardous to humans and deadly for freshwater aquatic life. Together, we can all make a difference.
