REGULAR MEETING OF THE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF MEDINA
OCTOBER 2,1962
Meeting called to order by Mayor Scott at 8:00 Pm. All council members present.
Minutes of Regular meeting of September 4,1962 were read. Motion by Art Gertz
to accept minutes as read, second by H. Arens, motion carried.
Proposed frachise with Northern States power Company was read. Motion by Harold
Winterhalter to adopt ordinance granting Northern States Power Company franchise
Second by Herb Arens, Motion carried.
Mr. Bergstrom, secretary of Hennepin County League of Municipalites gave a short
talk explaining the workings of the organization and asked for support of the
league from the village.
Mr. felix Kubic appeared before the council in regard to his garage building permit
which if completed will not comply with village ordinance. Kubic stated that he had
been given a permit by Alfred Merz, building inspector at to build the house and garage
anc could not understand why he had been stopped. He said he had given the lot size
and the house size at that time so if there was something wrong he should have been
told at the time. He owns lots of the east side south side of the building site.
He was told by the council that he had been told quite a while ago that he was not
to continue work on the house until the boundry line of the property was established.
The Building inspector reported that the garage is 18 inches from theaplge property
line. Motion by Winterhalter to table the matter until the next meeting, when
Alfred Merz could be present, second by Arthur Gertz, Motion carried.
Father Fiche] from Loretto church appeared before the council in regard loeation
of Village Road # 9 past the cemetary, this matter was tabled until ma futher
meeting.
Mr Vanman representing Mrs Clover Boyer appeared before the council to ask for a permit
to move her residence from her farm to a lot she owns on County Road 19, she intends to
build a new home on the farm site of the old house. She has recieaed written permission
from all adjoining property owners .except one. Motion by Winterhalter to grant Mrs Boyer
a permit to move a house on to plat of survey in Section 18, Township 118, range 23 as
presented to the council providing that she obtain the signature of the remaing property
owner, Mr. Mueller, Second by R Roehl, Motion carried.
Motion by H Arens to advertise for snow removal bids to be opened at meeting of November
7,1962. Second by Arthur Gertz, Motion carried.
Motion by H Arnes to hold a special meeting on October 16,1962 to discuss the budget,
seoond by H Winterhalter, motion carried.
Motion by H N Winterhlater to adopt ;the resolution to participate to the Rural Hennepin
Councy Nursing district for the year 1963, second by Herb Arens, motion carried.
Cattle pass for Alfred Klaers was discussed, Mayor Scott reported that Independence
would pay 1/4 of the cost. It was the general feeling Of the council that Mr. Kaix
Klaers should pay at least 1/2 of the cost.
The Following election judges were appointed for the November electiont John Dykhoff,
Mary Kohnen, Elizabeth Proehl, Lucy Scherer andd Marion Ahlstrom.
Motion By Roehl, to adjourn, second by Arens, Motion carried.
