HomeMy Public PortalAbout20231129092158694REPORT OF BOARD OF CANVASSERS COUNCIL CHAMBERS CITY OF RHINELAN,DER, WISCONSIN April 2, 1963 The undersigned members of the common council, constituting the board of canvassers for the city, to canvass the returns of the spring election held in 'said city on the 2nd day of April, 1963, respectfully report as follows: The returns of the inspectors of election of the several wards have been examined by the board of canvassers and the following statement of votes cast is corrects Whole number of votes* given for BOARD OF EDUCATION is One thousand six hundred and sixty (1.,66©), of which Oscar Johnson received 591, F.T. Ratliff received 555 and William P. Taylor received 500. The scattering votes were Bill Erusoe 1, W. Gleason 1, E. Korth Jr. 1, Gerald Loesch. Jr. 1, Jack LaBlonde 2, Erling Skagen 1, George Schueppert 1, Harry Martin Jr. 1, Rodd Blaisdell 1, Dick Skochil 1, Walter Dulin 1, Ray Woita 1, and Irene Musson 1. Oscar Johnson, F.T. Ratliff and William P. Taylor having received the highest number of votes cast are hereby elected members of the elementary board of education for the ensuing three years. BY MAYOR AND COMMON COUNCIL: Fred Chandler In the Town of Harrison, 119 votes were cast (one hundred and nineteen) of which Oscar Johnson received 43, F.I. Ratliff received 35, and William P. Taylor received 41. These votes were not added to the above city total. rol The ing COMMITTEE REPCHT (cont. PUBLIC WORKS; Recommended the purchase of a new garbage packer unit rom the Bates -Garwood Co. for $4,695,00. Motion to purchase this unit was made by Ald. Locke and seconded by Aid. Eohne. On roll, carried. WATCH L©MvIITTEE: Requested permission to petition the Public Service ission for a hearing an proposed sewer rate increases. Motion to grant ission was made by A1d. Church and sec:onoec by A1d. Rosenkranz. On carried. committee repotted that they are obtaining fig es on the cost of instal: a deep well sewer station on Rose St. LOGGING MUSEUM Reported that the road leading to the museum is in need blcktopping. This matter was referred to the Board of Public Works. A letter was read from the Chamber of Commerce requesting funds to help with the Alice in Dairyland contest to be staged here. Motion by Locke and seconded by Bloomquist that $50.©0 be donated. On roll, carried. The following bills were presented for payment: City Bills $20,243.68 (including Gibson Agency $465.38 & Wendt Agency $78.48 , Recreation $498.53 Ambulance $93.57, and Water Department $3,118.29. Payment of these bills was recommended by the Claims Committee. Motion for payment by Bohne and seconcec by Rosenkranz. On roll, carried.
