The Council of the Village of Medina met in regular session on Tuesda$6, October
2, 1973 at 7:35 P. M.

The minutes of the meeting of September 4, 1973 read. Moved by Donald Des
Lauriers to approve the minutes as read.

Arthur Theis to approve the minutes as read.

The minutes of the Planning Commission meeting of September 17, 1973 read.
Graydon McCulley appeared to explain the type of industry, etc. of Mannix,
who are considering some property on the corner of Hwy. 55 and Arrbwhead.
Discussed the 11068.34 left over from the County road allotment. Donald Des
Lauriers had talked this matter over with William Mills. Moved by Donald Des
Lauriers to authorize William Mills to write the County stating that the
balance of 11068.34 of the 1973 county aid funds be used in the summer of
1974 to seal coating Willow Drive.

Talked over the matter of the Glampe check. Dick Schieffer is going to check
into it further.
Tom Anderson - Village Hall. Moved by Robert Franklin that we designate W.
H. Cates as the low bid for the Village Hall with a base bid of •;n169,900.00
and instruct Architect Anderson to draw a contract for our approval in
accordance with our discussion tonight of the bid and alternates.

Moved by Arthur Theis that we make the change: of sewer and water rates as
recommended by William Mills except for the last two rates in each case
presented and authorize the Village Attorney to draw up the ordinance for
water and sewer rates.

Moved by Thomas Stevens to approve the Budget for 1974 as drawn up on October
1, 1973.

Studied the Court Decision on the case of Holasak against Village of Medina.
Moved by Robert Franklin that the Council direct the Village Attorney to file
a motion for amended findings in the case of Holasak versus Medina, consistant
with positions takenhe Village Council and authorize the attorney
to secure a copy of the trial transcript.

Moved by Robert Franklin to move, referring to the letter from the Hennepin
County of September 5, 1973, to sell singl 'y Lot8, Block 10 single and Lot
10, Block 10 singly, Lot 3, Block 19, singly. Lots 3, 4 and 5, Block 19,
Independence Beach Subdividion , these three lots should be sold as one
unit or block.

Ford Bell and Chas. Crosby with regard to the wild geese in the Village.

at 8 P. M. Golden Valley Hall.
Moved by Robert Fra nklin to advise the Federal Government that we are going
to spend the Rgvenue Sharing money as follows: "5,020.00 for Capital im-

Moved by Thomas Stevens to pay the bills as follows: Payroll in the amount
of $4,938.55 and order checks in the amount of $20,845.53.

Athletic Association from $300.00 to 3500.00 for 1974.

Moved by Thomas Stevens to accept the $158,468.00 contract with C. W. Cates to
construct the new Village Hall, according to the contract with the ground
work to bedone be September 1, 1974.
Seconded by Donald Des Lauriers
Motion carried.
Leo Leuer outlined the problem with the well. Moved by Robert Franklin that
we declare a state of emergency and we authorize the cleaning of the gravel
pack and skreen on the Hamel well.
