We, the members of the Common Council of the City of Rhinelander,
Wisconsin, having been duly assembled at the Council Chamber of the said city
of Rhinelander, this 9th day of April 1962 for the purpose of canvassing the
votes of the several wards for the different offices of the last municipal
election held on the 3rd day of April 1962, having duly canvassed said vote
do hereby ake and file this our statement of said election.
For Mayor, there were 2,836 votes cast, of which S.Harris Lewis
received 1,919 votes, E.J. Wittock 917 votes. S. Harris Lewis having receive
the highest number of votes cast is hereby elected mayor for the ensuing two
years.
For City Attorney there were 2,264 votes cast of which John Krueger
received 2,258 votes and scattering 6 votes. John Krueger having
received the highest number of votes cast is hereby elected city attorney
for the ensuing two years.
For the Board of Education there were 4,889 votes cast of which Thomas
Hildebrand received 1,808 votes, Mrs. Theodora Stroede 1,659 votes and
Mrs. Lois Brooks received 1,422 votes. Thomas Hildebrand and Mrs. Theodora
Stroede having received the highest number of votes cast are hereby elected
members of the Elementary Board of Education forthe ensuing three years.
For Justice of the Peace there were 2,325 votes cast of which Harvey
Roepcke received 2,322 votes and scattering 3 votes. Harvey Roepcke having
received the highest number of votes cast is hereby elected as Justice of the
Peace for the ensuing two years.
For Alderman -Supervisor of the First Ward there were 235 votes cast of
which Ray Joslin received 123 votes and Arthur Larson 112 votes. Ray Joslin
having received the highest number of votes is hereby elected Alderman -
Supervisor of the First Ward for the ensuing two years.
For Alderman -Supervisor of the second ward there were 275 votes cast
of which Fred Locke received 143 votes and Irvin Clark received 132 votes
cast. Fred Locke having received the highest number of votes cast is
hereby elected Alderman -Supervisor of the second ward for the ensuing two years
For Alderman -Supervisor of the third ward there were 253 votes cast, of
which Edward Bohne received 131 votes, Walter Dulin 75 votes and Joseph
Puza 47 votes. Edward. Bohne having received the highest number of votes cast
is hereby elected Alderman -Supervisor of the third wad for the ensuing two
years.
For Alderman -Supervisor of the fourth ward there were 224 votes cast.
Myron Sharkey having received the total number of votes cast is hereby
elected. Alderman -Supervisor of the Fourth Ward for the ensuing two years.
For Alderman -Supervisor of the fifth ward there were 323 votes cast of
Which Vernon Grant received 163 votes and Aldred Sanders 160 votes, Vernon
Grant having received the highest number of votes cast is hereby aled_ted
Alderman -Supervisor of the Fifth ward for the ensuing two years.
For Alderman -Supervisor of the sixth ward there were 186 votes cast.
Fred Chandler having received the total number of votes cast is hereby
elected Alderman -Supervisor of the sixth ward for the ensuing two years.
For Alderman -Supervisor of the seventh ward there were 265 votes cast
of which George Rosenkranz received 156 votes and Thomas Lawrence received
109 votes. George Rosenkranz having received the highest number of votes
cast is hereby elected Alderman -Supervisor of the seventh ward for the
ensuing two years.
For Alderman -Supervisor of the eighth ward there were 309 votes cast,
of which John Kunach received 129 votes, John Macon 125 votes and Clifford
Bourcier 55 votes. John Kunach having received the highest number of votes
cast is hereby elected Alderman -Supervisor of the eighth ward for the ensuing
two years.
For Alderman -Supervisor of the ninth ward there were 274 votes cast,
of which Harold Bloomquist received 172 votes and Richard Timm 102 votes.
Harold Bloomquist having received the highest number of votes cast is hereby
elected as Alderman -Supervisor of the ninth ward for the ensuing two years.
For Alderman -Supervisor of the tenth ward there were 132 votes cast,
of which Ray Church received 90 votes and Woodrow Russell 42 votes. Ray
Church having received the highest number of votes cast is hereby elected as
Alderman -Supervisor of the tenth ward for the ensuing two years,
For Alderman -Supervisor of the eleventh ward there were 295 votes cast
of which Leslie Leith received 183 votes and Wilbur Pecore 112 votes.
Leslie Leith having received the highest number of votes cast is hereby
elected Alderman -Supervisor of the eleventh ward for the ensuing two years.
