HomeMy Public PortalAbout2514-1971 - Appropriation - From General Fund to Police Department for Motor EquipmentORDINANCE NO. 2514-1971 AN ORDINANCE TO APPROPRIATE THE SUM OF SIX THOUSAND ONE HUNDRED DOLLARS ($6,100.00) FROM THE GENERAL FUND CASH OPERATING TO POLICE DEPARTMENT BUDGET ACCOUNT NO. GENERAL L-29 (7-72-722) MOTOR EQUIPMENT, "PROPERTIES". WHEREAS, a request has been made by the Police Department to transfer the sum of $6,100.00 from the General Fund Cash Operating to Police Department Budget Account No. General L-29 (7-72-722) Motor Equipment, "Properties". WHEREAS, the Board of Public works and Safety of the City of Richmond, Indiana, after careful study and consideration on the 14th day of January, 1971;*approved that an ordinance be prepared for Common Council's consideration to make the above transfer of funds, and WHEREAS, certain extraordinary emergencies have developed since the adoption of the existing annual budget so that it is now necessary to appropriate more money for the various functions of the City Government than was appropriated in the -annual budget. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Common Council of the City of Richmond, Indiana. SECTION 1. That for the expenses of the City Government and its institutions for the year ending December 31, 1971, the following money is hereby appropriated and set apart out of the fund named for the purpose specified. Said sum being subject to all laws governing the same. Such amount appro- priated shall be held to include all expenditures authorized to be made during the year, unless expressly stipulated by law. SECTION 2. That for the fiscal period -there is hereby appro- priated from the General Fund Cash Operating to meet the extraordinary emergency declared to exist. AMOUNT REQUESTED Police Department Budget Account No. General L-29 (7-72-722) Motor Equipment, "Properties" $6,100,00 SECTION 3. WHEREAS, it has been shown that certain existing appropriations now have unobligated balances which will not be used for the purpose appropriated. IT IS THEREFORE ORDAINED by the Common Council of the City of Richmond, -Indiana, that such unnetcessary'existing appropriations be now reduced in amount as follows: and the same is appro- priated to the above named item REQUESTED REDUCTION General Fund Cash Operating $6,100.00 SECTION 4. An extraordinary emergency exists for the above appropriation, SECTION 5. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage and approval by the Mayor and is subject to the laws of the State of Indiana governing emer- gency appropriations.
