AN GRDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO, 2325=1968 COMMONLY
KNOWN AS THE ZONING ORDINANCE OF ''HE CITY OF RICHMOND,
INDIANA, ADOPTED JUNE 3, 1968..
BE IT ORDAINED by the CommGn Council of the City of Richmond, Indiana:.
as follows:
SECTION 1.. WHEREAS, the Zoning Ordinance new permits the existence
of Dry Cleaning and Laundry receiving stations,
processing to be done elsewhere in the C-1
Neighbc,rhcod BuJ ness District, which is under
Article 30. Section 300002� No. 12.
SECTION 2� WHEREAS, the Zoning Ordinance now permits the existence
of Laundry s, and. Dry Cleaners, automatic,
self-seWtype or hand, prc,vided that laundry
machines shall not exceed ten (10) pounds
capacity each in the C-1 Neighborhood Business
District, which is under Article 30. Section
30e002o No. 22.
SECTION 3. WHEREAS. the Zoning Ordinance nc.w permits the existence
of Dry -Cleaning Establishments in the C-4
General Business District which is under
Article..33a Section 33,002. No. 6,
SECTION 4:. WHEREAS, it is the interest and purpose hereof to re-
define the restrictions pertaining to Dry
Cleaning and Laundry operations in the Cs"
Neighborhood Business District and the C-4
General Business District,
SECTION 5 WHERE.AS, it is Ole into e:� aj,d purpose hereof to permit
Dry Cleaning Operations in the C-2 Community
Business District.
SECTION 6� 'AHEREA`a, this matter was considered by the Richmond City
Plan Commission whereby a public hearing was
held on the•.n6th day of February, 1971., at
which time remonstrances were heard from all
parties interested in or affected by this
Ordinance.
SECTION 7� WHEREAS, the vote of the Richmond City Plan Commission

NOW THEREFORE,
SECTION 8. tt is hereby ordained that, Article 30, Neighborhood
Business District of the Zoning Ordinance for
the City of Richmond, Indiana, be amended to
read as follows:

"30,002 No� 22 laundries and dry-cleaning estah-
lishments using only coin ----operated machines.
These machines are to be used by the customers
or a single patron employee, The dry-cleaning
machines are to use non-flammable, nun -explosive
solvents and a dry cleaning establishment locates]
in this district is limited to a stearm generator
with a maximum of two (2) horsepower capacity
No boiler of any type is permitted and no dry-
cleaning establishment as described above is to
be located in the same building with a residential
use."

SECTION y It is further ordained that Article 33, CA General
Business, District of the Zoning Ordinance

an establishment shall be In completely
enclosed building detached from other

SECTION 10. It is further ordained that Article 31, Community Business
District of the Zoning Ordinance of the
City of Richmond, Indiana be amended by
inserting after Section 31,002, No. 52,
the following:
91,002, No� 53 Dry-cleaning cash and carry
package plants using nonflammable, non-
explosive solvents; anc', any boiler used n
the processing shall be limited to a fifteen
15) horsepower capacity. This type of
dry-cleaning establishment shall be 1�.mited
strictly to ovei�-themcounter service and no
dry-cleaning establishment as described
above is to be located in the same building
with a residential use."
SECTION ll, This ordinance shall be in full force and affect from
and after its passage and publication as
by law required.
