Leesburg Asks for Public Input on Recruiting the Town’s Next
Chief of Police
Members of the public can submit feedback through February 21, 2016, using
“Leesburg Listens,” the Town’s new online forum.
Leesburg, VA (February 11, 2016) – The Town of
Leesburg wants input from the public on their needs
and expectations from the Police Department and what
leadership qualities they want to see in the Town’s next
Chief of Police.
The Town has posted a four-question survey about the
recruitment of the Police Chief on the new “Leesburg
Listens” online forum on www.leesburgva.gov/leesburglistens. The survey will be open through
Sunday, February 21, 2016.
In addition to the online survey, there will be two public input meetings open to the general
public on Wednesday, February 17, 2016, in Ida Lee Park Recreation Center’s lower level
meeting rooms (60 Ida Lee Drive NW), at 12:00 noon and 7:00pm. The afternoon session will be
focused on gathering feedback from the business community and the evening input session will
be focused on gathering feedback from the community at large. All are welcome to attend
either session.
The Town of Leesburg has engaged the executive search services of the International
Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP) to recruit the Town’s next Chief of Police. Representatives
from IACP will conduct the two public input meetings. IACP will use the information gathered
from the online survey and the public meetings to develop a position profile for the recruitment
process.
