AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 9 -17 OF THE GREENCASTLE
CITY CODE REGARDING DEPARTMENT OF WATERWORKS TAP -IN
CHARGES
WHEREAS, Section 9 -17 of the Greencastle City Code lists the Department of Waterworks
tap -in charges to connect to the City's water system; and
WHEREAS, in addition to tap -in charges, Section 9 -17 e. covers charges for after -hour
service calls.
NOW THEREFORE be it ordained by the Common Council of the City of Greencastle that
it hereby amends Section 9 -17 e. of the Greencastle City Code to read as follows:
Sec. 9 -17
• e. The City shall be available for service calls for problems with its system from
8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. during regular City workdays. For all other times, water
personnel will respond to one request to turn off a customer's water service for the
purpose of stopping a leak, and one request to turn service back on, at no charge
to the customer. All additional, or other after -hour service calls will be charged to
the customer at the rate of $40.00 per call.
There shall be no charge at any time to report a suspected leak.
All other terms and conditions set out in Ordinance 2004 -31 which are not specifically
amended herein shall remain in full force and effect.
This Ordinance shall have full force and effect upon passage of the Greencastle Common
Council and its approval by the Mayor.
