Dominion Virginia Power Pole Replacement Work in
Downtown Leesburg This Weekend
Portions of Loudoun and Wirt Streets will be closed.
Leesburg, VA (February 11, 2016) – This weekend, Dominion Virginia Power will be replacing
three power poles on Loudoun and Wirt Streets as part of running new communications lines to
the support Loudoun County’s 911 Emergency system.
On Friday, February 12, Dominion will replace the pole located on the southeast corner of the
intersection of Loudoun and Wirt Streets. Loudoun Street, between King and Liberty Streets,
will be reduced to one lane of traffic from 7:00am to 7:00pm, except during morning and
evening peak hours. Wirt Street, between Loudoun and Royal Streets, will be closed from
7:00am to 7:00pm. Local traffic will be able to access residences and businesses on this block
via Royal Street.
Beginning on Saturday, February 13, through Monday, February 15, Dominion will replace two
poles on the west side of Wirt Street, between Market and Loudoun Streets. On each day, that
block of Wirt Street will be closed from 7:00am to 7:00pm. Local traffic will be accommodated
and the street will be reopened at night.
On Saturday, February 13, there will be limited power outages for customers on Wirt Street
between Market and Loudoun Streets. All affected customers have been notified by Dominion
of these outages.
The above work schedule is subject to weather conditions. If inclement weather or other
conditions prevents Dominion from performing any of the work as scheduled, work will be
postponed to the following day.
