HomeMy Public PortalAboutPAGE 221Regular meeting March 5 1935 The meeting was called. to order at 8:05 P.M.by Mayor Protem Mclander.Roll call showed the following members present: Carl,Cordill, Molander,Tinker & Venable. Frye absent.The Mayor being late. The minutes of the regular meeting of Feb.5 wei.e - and the called meeting of Feb.8 were read and the called meeting of Feb.15 was read later and all approved as read. E, H, Kelly and Frank Tinker talked to the Board about the purchase of the I.O.O . F, Realty Bldg. st at in r that the Lodge owned 5281- shares or one half of all the shares of 1 10.00 a share. The Torn could buy the rest of the shares which are owned by R.McCall,C.H.Frye and c Mrs.Nichols and others at , 5.00 per share.The Lodge offered to take rent on the lodge room for their shares.Mayor Van Buskirk came at tnis tine and asked the Board what they wanted to do about this and there was no action taken until some one would book up the matter. After some discussion about rel.thnding the Park Bonds, uorai.i.lmoved the following resolution which is recorded in the ordinance book, and with it is Ordinance 97 . This provided for the refunding of the 'ark Bonds at 5 ,optional in 193P but due at the rate of 3:000 after 1943 to 1947.Interest due semiannuilly on May 1 and Nov.l. Venable r.oved,Tinker seconded:The adoption of the resolution. Cordill rtoyed,The passage of the Ordinance 97. Carl moved,Molander seconded: That the rules be suspended and the ordinance be read and passed. All voted.The ordinance was ordered published. These Bonds were exchanged with Amos C.Sudler & Co.Denver. All voted acre. Cordill moved, Tinker seconded: -Tn.at the Board declare the old Henry Andrews house to be a fire trap and order it to be nailed up. All voted ave upon roll call. Cordill moved,Molander seconded: To adjourn subject to the call of the Mayor. April 2 1935 ayor Regular Meeting Mayor VanBuski rk called the meeting to order at 7:55 P.M, The fallowing members were present:-Cordill,Molander,Tinker,& Venable. Carl & Frye grsent The minutes of the regular meeting of March 5 were read and a 'approved as read. Mr. Cordill stated that -the Henry Andrews house was being repaired. Mrs.Rieldtl,Mrs.Sanden and Ray Burman,representing the Library Board presented plans for a Public Library building.Mrs.Riedel explained that Mr.Peary of Denver had made the plans and said that the building could be built for ? 2,000 beside what the Government would furnish. She .=asked the Board if they would help build the building and keep it up if the Library Board would use a ' 1,000 of their money to help. Af ter some discussion, it was decided that the Library board should inxestigate the furthur cost of the building and fixtures. A garnishee by the Platteville Rank dated March 30, against Mr.Tegtman's salary was read but as there was an assighrient dated March 15,given to -T, A.VanBuskirk,the clerk was instructed to make a return that the Town did not owe Mr.Tegtman any money at the time of the garlish4 :.'receipt by the Mayor.
