AN ORDINANCE OF `PHE CITY OF LY_N4i'OOD Alt.I:tVDING
SECTIOiQ 35 OF ORDII~dANCE N0. 305, DECLARING THE
Y.EEPING AND RAISING OF i1-IINKS, RYTS, AND I,~ICE
TO BE A PUBLIC 1\nIISANCE AND REGULATING THE
BREEDING OF FUR BEARING AIdI&IALS.
The City Council of the City of Lynwood does hereby ordain
as follovas:
Section 1: Section 3~ of Ordinance No. 305 is hereby amended
to read as follows:
"Section 35: It is hereby declared to be a public nuisance
and it shall be unlawful for any person, firm, or corporation:
"a. To fail to comply with the requirements of the Health
Department of the County of Los Angeles, California, or of any duly con-
stituted officer of the City of Lynwood for the prevention, extermina-
tion, control, and regulation of minks, rats, or other rodents, fowl, or
animals;
"b. To permit minks, rats, or mice to occupy, breed, or live
upon any premises within the City of Lynvaood or to raise or harbor or
allow to be raised or harbored, any minks, rats, or mice in said City
of Lynvaood;
"c. To permit any fur bearing ariimal (except rabbits) to live
upon any premises within the City of Lynwood or to raise, breed, or
harbor any fur bearing animal (except rabbits) in said City of Lynwood
without first obtaining a special permit therefor as hereinafter provided.
°Piinks, rats, or mice may be raised in said City of Lynwood
for scientific experimental, or hobby purposes, or fur bearing animals
may be raised in said city provided they have been securely confined
and raised and cared for in accordance witYi requirements of said Health
Department and provided further that a special permit shall have been
first obtained from the City Council of the City of Lynwood for such
purposes. Said Council may a>prove or re3ect any such request for
special permit and may ~•rant the same according to conditions to be im-
posed at the discretion of said Council. In denying or granting any
such special permit, the City Council shall consider the type of animal
proposed to be raised, the number and location thereof, pro;:amity of
residential structures and uses and zoning regulations of the City of
Lynwood. The determination of the Council shall be final and if a per-
mit is granted, no such permit shall be deemed to secure a vested right
in any ;germittee. Any such .permit may be revoked svith or without notice
and with or without cause by the City Council. No special permit shall
be grunted for any use not in conformity with the zoning code of the
City of Lynvaood. The Council may impose a reasonable fee in granting
any such special permit.°
Section 2: The City Clerk is hereby ordered and directed to
certify to the passage of this ordinance and to cause the same to be
published once in the Lynvrood Press, a newspaper of general circulation,
printed, published, and circulated in the City of Lynwood.
First read at a regular meeting of the City Council of said
City held on the 2nd day of T~a~_, 1950, and finally adopted and
ordered published at a regular meeting of said Council held on the 16th
day of ^Ma,y , 1950, by tYie following vote:
