HomeMy Public PortalAboutPAGE 226Regular meeting (Continued) August 6 1935 Mr. Price of the Portland Cement Co. spoke to the board about the cost of a swirnirng pool and stated that by using WPA funds that the overnment would pay 90`x' of the cost and that the,' library board could include the cost of their lots into the it expense,if the% built a library building. It was decided to have a committee of both. the Town and Library boards ri et the next evening and look over the site of a. library buildin arld also see if they could build a town hall in connection with the library.The Mayor appointed Mrrs.Cordill,Frve end Melander as a corner i tt ee. Motion carried, Called meeting Sept embei~ 4 1935 Mayor "an Buskirk called the meeting to order at 11.40 A. . stating that the purpose of the meeting was to consider the making of an application for TPA funds for building a library building..Those present were Call,Cordill,Frve Tinker,Molander Venable absent. The Library board met with the Town bard and Mrs.Ridel explained that the Town would have to be sponsor for the library building and maintain it when it was done. Chas.Robinson spoke to the board and told them about the cost of building and that the amount to t,,e town would be about 6 2900. Cordill moved, Carl seconded: That the mown sponsor a library build- ing and make apPlication to t he government for Wn.4 funds and labor to build the same. All present voted eve upon roll call. The Mayor and Mr.Cordill signed as sponsor for the Town. The meeting adjourned. Regular meeting Mayor September 4 1935 The meeting was called to order at 7:55 '.T.. by Mayor Van Buskirk. Cordill, Fvre Molander, and Tinker present.Carl and Venable absent. The minutes of the regular meeting of August 6 were read -and approv as read. A letter from Fairbanks Morse Co.gave all the specifications on their 7{ HP engine and another onethanked the board for an order, The Smith. Lumber Co.made application for building permit on lots 21,22,23 Blk.1 to repair their bnilding.This was granted.
