ORDINANCE NO. 524
AN OPDINANCE OF THE CI^1Y OF LYARVOOD, CALIFORNIA
FIXING THE COMPENSATION OF THE CITY CLERK AND THE
CITY TREASURER OF THE SAID CITY AND REPEALING OR-
DINANCE NUMBER 292 AND 351 OF SAID CITY, AND DE-
CLARING AN EMERGENCY IN THE ADOPTION OF THIS OR-
DINANCE.
The City Council of the City of Lynwood does ordain as
follows:
Section 1; That the salary or compensation of the City
Clerk oP the City of Lynwood, California, shall be payable on the 5th
and ZOth days of each month and is,hereby fixed and established in the
sum of Two Hundred and Fifty 0250.00) Dollars per month for the balance
of the term for which the present. incumbent has been elected and quali-
fied. That the salary and compensation of the City C1erY, of said City
of Lynwood shall be Three Hundred and Fifty ($350.00) Dollars per month
beginning at the commencement of the term of office of the Gity Clerk
elected at the General Municipal Election held on the second Tuesday of
April in 1950.
Section 2: That the salary and compensation of the City
Treasurer of the City of Lynth*ood, California, shall be payable on the
5th and 20th days of each month and is hereby fixed and established in
the sum of Two Hundred and Fifty 0+2$0.00) Dollars per month for the
balance of the term for which the present incumbent has been elected
and qualified, That the salary and compensation of the City Treasurer
of said City of Lynwood shall be Three Hundred and Fifty 0350.00)
Dollars per month beginning at the commencement of the term of office
of the City Treasurer elected at the General Municipal Election held on
the second Tuesday of April in 1850.
Section 3: That Ordinance No. 292 and Ordinance No. 351 of
the City of Lynwood are hereby repealed.
Section 4: This ordinance is urgently required for the im-
mediate preservation of the public peace, health, and safety and shall
be in effect immediately upon its adoption. The following is a declara-
tion of the facts constituting the urgency:

There is a General P~unicipal Election to be held in the
City of Lynwood on April 11, 1950. It is the desire of the Council
to fix the salary of the City Treasurer and the City Clerk at Z'hree
Hundred and Fifty 0350.00) Dollars per month for the City Clerk and
City Treasurer respectively, elected at the said General Municipal
Election to be held April 11, 1950. The law requires that such com-
pensation be fixed prior to the time aucl~ officers take office and can-
not be ch~.nged during the term of such officers.
Section 5: The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of
thin ordinance and shall cause the same to be published once in the
Lynwood Press, a newspaper of general circulation, published and cir-
culated in said City of Lynwood
First read at a regular meeting of the City Council of said
City held on the 7th day of March, 1950, and finally adopted and
ordered published at a regular meeting oP said Council held on the
21st day of Ms,rch , 1950, by the following vote:
