Police Personnel Board
Minutes-June 4, 2020
The meeting was called to order at 12:00 p.m.
Eleven persons attended as follows:

Following greetings, roll call was taken.
Approval of March 5, 2020 minutes
It was moved by Klindt and seconded by Shoun that the minutes from March 5, 2020 Board Meeting be
approved. The motion was carried unanimously.
New Business – Lt. Stiefermann discussed the turnout of the recent testing for Police Officer and
Communications Operator. There were a total of twenty-four applicants that took the written test for Police
Officer and a total of seven that tested for Communications Operator.
Lt. Stiefermann also announced that the Animal Shelter has two Animal Control Officer Positions open. The
Department has received 30 applicants for these positions. There was a discussion among the Board
regarding the hiring process for these positions for the Animal Shelter.
After the discussion on the hiring process and any necessary involvement from the Police Personnel Board, a
motion was made by Shoun and seconded by Klindt that all applications received for the position of Animal
Control Officer without felony convictions to be moved forward to the Department for review and proceed
accordingly with the interview/hiring process without any direct oversight from the Board.
The motion carried unanimously.
Begin Closed Session (see closed session for details)
A motion was made by Lehman and seconded by Backues to go into closed session at 12:10 p.m. for the
Police Personnel Board to go into closed session pursuant to RSMo.610.021 of the revised Statutes of Missouri;
the motion passed.

End Closed Session
A motion was made by Shoun and seconded by Lehman for the Police Personnel Board to come out of closed
session at 12:45 p.m. pursuant to RSMo.610.021 of the revised Statutes of Missouri; the motion passed.

Chief Schroeder went over some of the current department events, changes, needs, and updates. There was
a brief discussion.
Next meeting date- The next meeting will be September 17, 2020 at 12:00 p.m.
Adjourn
It was moved by Scruggs and seconded by Burton for adjournment. The motion carried. The meeting was
adjourned at 12:53 p.m.
