AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF mYN~"t00DROVIDETFOR
OF.DINt1NCE N0. 422 OF SAID GI~Y TO
THE ISSUISdG OF PERRiITS FOR THE CONSTRUCTION
OF FEAICES.
The City Council of the City of Lym~rood does ordain as
follows: Ordinance No. X22,
Section 1: Section 12, Subsection C.n.,
is amended as follovrs:
"A fence or wall not more than six (6) feet in height, or a
hedge maintained so as not to exceed six (6) feet in height, may be
located along the side or rear lot lines, provided such fence, wall,
or hedge does not extend into the required front yard nor into the side
yard required along the side street on a corner lot, which in this case
shall also include that portion of the rear yard abutting the inter-
secting street wherein accessory buildings are prohibited, and provided
further, that the provision shall not be so interpreted as to prohibit
the erection of a fence enclosing an elementary or high school site if

such fence does not project beyond the front line of the building.
"Before any fence is constructed, an application must be
filed with the Building Official of the City of Lynvrood for a permit
to construct any such fence. No fee shall be charged for such appli-
cation or permit. The application shall be in such form and contain
such information as the Building Official may reasonably require. The
Building Official may, upon application, allow the construction of a
fence of not to exceed eight (8) feet in height. In the case of an
application for a fence exceeding six (6) feet but not to exceed eight
(8) feet, the Building Official shall give notice of such application
to the adjoining property owner immediately affected. Such notice steal
be in writing. Ir. the event such immediately affected property owner
does not file a written protest with the Building Official within five
(5) days after the receiving of such notice, the Building Official
shall issue a permit for such fence. In the event a protest is filed,
no permit shall be granted by the Building Official. Applicant may th

appeal to the Planning Commission as provided in Section 13."
Section 2: The City Clerk is hereby ordered and directed
to certify to the passage of this ordinance and to cause the same to
be published once in the Lynwood Press, a necispaper of general circu-
lation printed, published, and circulated in the City of Lynwood.
First read at a regular meeting of the City Council of said
City held on the 1st day of November, 1g~9, and finally adopted and
ordered published at a regular meeting of said Council held on the
ljth day of Nov_^.?~ib_ ?r , 1g~9, by the following vote:
